Inshore fishing remains really slow with water temps still in the 60’s. Id highly recommend a nearshore charter or even better a offshore trip.

The offshore bottom fishing has been on fire. Every group has been having success, lots of dinners going into the fish box. Red snapper is closed and grouper opens up may 1st. We have been catching sea bass, vermilion snapper, triggerfish and other porgys. The inshore bite has been consistently inconsistent. A few redfish and black drum on low water. Its best to get out into the ocean right now.

If we could base our sole opinion on captain and vessel, we chose an outstanding captain. Regarding our experience, we’d strongly recommend deep sea fishing for a more authentic experience of fishing in SC, as opposed to catches found at the man made reef. As for weather, it was deplorable and poured a cold, steady hard rain 3-1/2 of the 4 hour excursion. Hi Susan,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your feedback. My sincerest apologies that your experience was not a 5 star one. Fishing at the reef is normally a great experience for all skill levels with more options of fish to catch vs inshore. Normally, I do offer offshore fishing options both bottom fishing and trolling with my other boat and will hopefully be able to offer them again next year. Regarding the weather, thank you for acknowledging it cant be counted on. These afternoon summer storms can be tricky however I do remember offering the option to go back in vs staying out and fishing. If rescheduling is possible based on availability that is always an option all you had to do was ask. Again, my apologies for your charter not meeting your expectations especially one that should have been special one for your family. I hope you will give us another chance in the future minus the rain.
