Our first deep see fishing experience on the Medusa was a memorable one.  Although we were novices, Captain Lance and First Mate John made the event a special one for all of us, especially our grandkids.  They were both very patient with all of us and explained the process and what to expect in detail, practicing with the kids so they would be prepared.  You could easily tell that the crew loved their jobs.  During the 4 hour expedition, they were very welcoming; each shared stories about their experiences and lives.  About half the guests got a little sea sick (remember, our first deep sea fishing experience); however, the crew was very attentive and frequently checked on each of us to make sure we were okay.  Most importantly, the knowledge and skill of these two fisherman resulted in a great catch for each of the two grandkids that they can’t stop talking about.  To top it off, we ate our fresh catch for the remainder of our stay (even giving some away to neighboring guests).  I would definitely recommend a sailing on the Medusa with Captain Lance and John.  If we return to the big island, we will definitely book again.

Even tho we did not catch anything, it was a great trip.  No one seemed to be catching anything as well.  Definitely would go out with the guys again.  The boat is proven but not our luck that time.  Maybe next time.

Captain and crew were friendly and easy to talk with. Boat was ready to go and we left on time. Fishing has been slow for most of the boats but we still managed to bring one Blue Marlin up to the boat and it was successfully released. We had a great time.

My wife, son and I fish Maui each year and were excited to try our luck during a 2-day excursion to Hilo/Kona. Captain Lance and Jake were great hosts and a huge highlight was when my 10 year old son hauled in a 5’-6”, 35 lb Spearfish!!  They were as happy for him as we were!

We went on a 3/4 day trip with two kids aged 10 and 13. Capt. Lance and Jack were knowledgeable, friendly, and great conversationalists. We had cake, fruit, and drinks provided on the boat. Jack showed us how to sit in the chair and kept the kids engaged. The boat was a great size and there was plenty of shade. The waters were quiet and we only had one bite, but this is how is goes sometimes and regardless we had a good trip.
