  Cpt Justin was fantastic! I’m used to crusty dusty grumbly old captains but Justin was a breath of fresh air. He was very knowledgeable about exactly where we could get some fish and did a great job handling the boat. He was also very patient and kind teaching us the current ways to cast and reel for the different fish we were after but it was his personality that made the trip even better. It was like hanging out with an old friend. Would recommend him to anyone especially younger lively people who don’t want to be grumbled at by leathered old men.

  The weather was being uncooperative today so stayed inside the inlet. The Captain offered to give us full reimbursement bc the fish bite had slowed down. We came to fish, we lead a bible story with my kids and Justin our captain was did a great job keeping hooks baited and the fish off the lines and we filled the live well. God blessed in abundance when the fish bite slowed we brought home 43 fish and threw back as many as we kept. Highly recommend.

  Thanks for a great fishing trip!

  4 Hour Trip – Inshore (PM) on March 18, 2026 • 3 adults

  This was our family's first ocean fishing trip. The fishing was pretty tough. Cold weather (about 40° when we left the dock), and the fish just weren't biting. Captain Charlie worked his tail off to put us on fish, trying different types of bait, moving around to different locations, etc. He was very determined to make sure we left with something in the bucket! We did end up with enough for a meal. Captain Charlie was a very relatable, down to earth guy. His communication leading up to launch time was great, and he was super responsive with any questions we had. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who is out there looking for a fishing charter!

  Fishing Fun on Southern Sun!

  6 Hour Trip - Nearshore (AM) on June 10, 2026 • 4 adults

  Captain Charlie put us on some big donkey red snapper! He was very accommodating for our family. He allowed us to use some of our own hand-tied hair jigs to hook into some different species. And he was mindful of our sea-sick prone family members to keep us comfortable during our trip. We will look at booking with Captain Charlie on Southern Sun again next time we visit Orange Beach!

  4 Hour Trip–Inshore (AM) on April 10, 2026 • 2 adults

  Went out with Justin on 4/10 and he was very helpful with baiting the hook, casting to where we hoped the fish were, and general knowledge. He had great patience no matter how many shrimp flew off the hook. We were only able to bring in one red drum but had a great morning. They were also mindful of weather and reached out to reschedule when the waves were going to be rough on our original day.
