That day, Cartagena experienced abnormally large swells, which is why your captain made the correct and safety-focused decision to alter course and ultimately end the trip early rather than place guests at risk. On the water, judgment means knowing when not to continue, even when customers want to fish — and that is exactly what happened here. We had a plan b and offered to fish thr bay at night both days after the trip were set up for the option to attend.

Regarding fishing options: offshore trolling requires specific conditions and equipment, and when the weather makes it unsafe, switching to inshore is not always technically possible.

All of our vessels are fully equipped with certified life jackets, radios, and safety gear in compliance with Colombian maritime regulations. Life jackets are always onboard and available; however, we will take your feedback and improve how we communicate safety information to guests before departure.

Your captain was documenting the sea state to provide visual proof of conditions for our operations team and the port authority — not for entertainment. We had another boat to the south and conditions were better. They caught 2 sailfish rasied a marlin and get into a dchool of king mackerel within the same time we were on the water.

We operate in the open Caribbean, not a lake, and sometimes nature overrides the plan. What never changes is our commitment to putting safety first, even when that means disappointing a fishing day.
