Our first date that we booked was going to be a little rough so Capt Paul suggested another day that turned out great. There were 2-3 foot swells but they were spaced enough not to be a problem. Capt Paul had a few unforeseen problems but he still stepped up and provided us a great trip. We landed a load of fish but a lot were to short to keep not the Capt’s or anyone else’s fault. It just happens sometimes. All of us and even the ones reading this post have done everything right but just couldn’t get the bigger ones to take the bait. That’s why it’s called fishing. My final take on our trip is great and will be going back out with Capt Paul. I do recommend Reelhard Fishing.

We had the most lovely day with Captain Paul and his son/first mate Tray.  We had initially planned to go the deep water route, but the weather (and wind) changed leading to much higher swells.  Captain Paul had multiple alternative plans and we hit several inland (bay/river locations); it turned out to be a real magical day. Plenty of fish; great conditions (under circumstances).  Look forward to doing it again!

We had a great time! We caught a bunch of fish! We went behind a shrimp boat to look for shark. We spotted hammer heads, bull shark, black tip! It was amazing to see the feeding frenzy! We had a couple bites and the line was getting pulled out hard. However, they got off both times. Thats just how fishing goes! Next time I’m sure we will land a big one! The day didn’t end there. We did all kinds of different fishing. Great variety! We felt safe and the boat was very nice! This boat had 2 250 hp motors and I’m sure could get up and move! Overall I was very happy with the trip. My son is in the Army and I wanted a trip to remember since I haven’t seen him in almost a year! I wanted to thank Paul and his son for all their hard work today!

Trip started off having to be changed due to Hurricane Laura coming in early the morning of our original reservations! Capt. Paul was flexible with the weather and knowing the last day of our trip to the coast. He made sure we were able to get out to the reef appr. 30 miles from shore. The very first fish we caught was to all of our surprise a Keeper! Capt. Paul and his young son helped keep us on the reef so almost every cast we landed a fish. The First mate John was excellent as well. He worked with keeping bate on all the hooks and comically helping keep my mother that weights 70 lbs standing and being able to land a fish. By the time we left we were ready to return. If we are ever able to return to the gulf coast we will definitely be booking again with Reelhard Fishing Charter!!!!!
