His qualifications include Small Vessel Operator Proficiency, Marine First Aid, and Marine Emergency Duties A3. He is also a member of the Campbell River Guides Association and the BC Sports Fishing Institute. His two sons occasionally guide in Cliff's absence: they are also qualified to operate small vessels and have experience guiding for lodges across Vancouver Island.
