Captain Rollie is the absolute best. I can’t recommend him enough. The fishing that day was a little slow for all the boats it seemed but captain Rollie would not give up. He kept changing lures, rigs and depth constantly until he found the secret weapon. He put us on the fish at a specific depth and dialed in. What a fisherman He is. He got us our limit on chinook and released the small ones in the most humane way possible. What a guy. Book with him. He’s the best

My wife (who never fishes) and I went with Rollie on Oct. 2, a cold and occasionally misty day. I think we caught 10-12 total, had to release some because we had our limit of wild coho, lost a handful more due to operator error, mine, not Rollie’s. He was a great conversationalist beginning to end. I fish a lot and I read an earlier post about him hooking and reeling part of the way in. That was not our experience, he hooked them but then the pole immediately went to one of us to fight the fish in. the light tackle was great and the fact we are using barbless hooks made it a challenge to stay hooked up.
I highly recommend Rollie and would gladly go back for a trip with him.

I recently went on a fishing charter with my brother and our two young boys, it was an amazing experience! Rollie was knowledgeable and made sure we were safe at all times. We caught a variety of Salmon, he took us to some secret spots that he knew would yield a good catch. The boat was clean and well-maintained, and the equipment was top-notch. Overall, I highly recommend Sooke Salmon Charters to anyone looking for a fun and successful day out on the water.

This was a great trip for us!  Having Rollie take us out meant him getting us out to where the fish were and showing us how to properly get the fish in and landed on the boat the right way.  My son Blake, raved about how Rollie would tell him exactly what he needed to do, “no second guessing” is what Blake would say to me.  He said this was the most fun he has had fishing!  He had one fish that almost spooled out the reel and gave him a good workout.

For our time there(1 full day, 2 half days) we caught our chinook limit and were able to catch and play other variety’s of salmon.  We only lost one fish off the hook the whole time.  Definitely “Anglers Choice”

Having the Crab traps out for our full day trip was a tasty bonus as we had a bunch of crab to eat the first night there.

When you go out with Rollie you know everything he is doing is going to be done the right way.
