Their catch was four keeper Speckled Trout and a mid slot Red Drum, and they caught several undersize fish of the same species. They were novice fishermen they didn’t hook all the fish that were biting, but each caught a fair amount of fish. I caught some nice trout and a slot red to help fill their cooler. Additionally, I stayed out on the water an extra half hour at no extra charge. I’m surprised I was given the lowest amount of stars I’ve ever received considering the beautiful morning and productive fishing.

It is unfortunate that the weather was consistently uncooperative and poor during Vince’s stay in the OBX. March is typically the worst month of the entire year here in the OBX and this past March was no exception. We had already rescheduled once prior to the Friday trip and I wanted to reschedule for the following Wednesday but the change was declined. Winds were 15 - 25 out of the South with stronger gusts making it immensely difficult to fish. It was cold and the sound was extremely choppy with up to 2 foot seas. The water temps were frigid as well being it was the first days of spring and having rained in the days prior. I moved us around to several spots and did try different baits including jigging, popping corks, and twitch baits. The results were disappointing but not surprising. Hopefully, Vince will get on them on his next visit.
