Captain Doug has been fishing the waters off of Cape Cod for over 20 years. He loves having the opportunity of introducing saltwater fishing to anyone who hasn't had the chance to fish before. The captain has worked as a commercial fisherman and as a mate on another charter boat for years. He recently retired and decided that it was time to go for his captain's license and start a new chapter in life.
Techniques
Fishing with live bait is one of my favorite methods to fish during the day but night fishing with live eels is an awesome experience that everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. When we're going for big Stripers, wireline jigging is absolutely the most productive and consistent way to fish in the rips around Monomoy. We use a proprietary St. Pete Striper Jig that drives the fish crazy.

The early fishing on the south side of Cape Cod has been incredible! We're seeing a lights-out bite with several huge fish ranging from 28 inches up to the low 40-inch range. While the weather hasn't been the most cooperative lately, the fish certainly have been, making for some fantastic catches. It appears that another epic summer is in store for Cape Cod.

It's been a tough year on the South Side of Cape Cod as far as weather goes. Nice days for golf but the wind has been relentless. When we can get out there the fishing has been lights out. Great customers and great fishing. We still have some Monday and Tuesday dates open for August and September.

Our first Striper trip of the season was a huge success with Matt Whalen and crew aboard the St. Pete today. There were a variety of sizes from schoolies to slot fish to oversized around 38". The St. Pete Weighted Hoochies were on fire! Thanks, Matt for a great trip. We trolled St. Pete Hoochies for the first 6-8 fish and then switched over to snapping wire when the tide changed. Once we had our fill of that it was time to switch again. This time we went with small 4" weighted hoochies casting into the rips. Great trip, great weather, and a great group of guys.

We went out the other day and the water temperature was around 48 degrees. Squid should arrive the minute the waters hit 50. We have open trips available. Book an 8-hour trip for up to 4 people. We leave the dock at Bass River Marina at 7 am and it's a quick trip to Hyannis. Bring a bucket and some old clothes and get ready to get inked. Trips start next Monday, April 30th but it's a very short season, usually only about 2 weeks long so don't delay.

We're still catching a lot of Stripers

It's been a rough couple of weeks on the south side of Cape Cod with high winds and some rough seas. Unfortunately, we had to cancel some trips due to the wind and sea conditions but the rest of the trips have been outstanding. Unlike the Bay, thankfully, the stripers are still plentiful out in the rips of Monomoy if you know where to look. We've come home with a full box every time. Thank you, God! The fish are big, fighting, and fat, especially the Bluefish. The Albies are starting to move in as well so we're still in for a lot of great fishing on the south side of Cape Cod. Don't wait, book your trip today. Limited slots are still available.
