Had a great trip with fish biting everywhere. Wes will place you over great spots that’ll wear you out reeling. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

Captain Wes was great, wished for better weather but had a great time with inshore fishing. Hopefully better weather and bigger fish next time. Great working with Capt Wes!

Great trip capt and mate great with kids made trip easy going kids had a great time

I didn’t want this review to come off salty, so I waited a few weeks before I wrote it, so I could evaluate and reflect on what actually happened on our trip, and give an honest account of our day.
There were four adults on this trip, two men, two women, and due to the nature that this is a much smaller boat, four adult passengers, plus the captain, plus his deckhand, was just not really enough room to be able to maneuver and have that great of a time with six adults on board this smaller boat.
The water was very choppy that morning, and the captain insisted on hammering the boat full speed across the bay so we could get out to open water, and the boat was slamming hard on the waves, jarring everybody where they sat, and I even asked him if he could tone it down a touch, but he did not.
Due to the 30 or 40 minutes of up and down over real choppy water, my wife was starting to develop seasickness. Now I know I should have probably gave her Dramamine that morning, and that’s on me, but I wasn’t expecting the captain to go full blast, super fast, and smash into every wave with wild abandon.
Sure enough by the time we got out to the spot he wanted to take us fishing, my wife was sick, throwing up off the side of the boat, and was done for the rest of the day, never fished a single bit, n was embarrassed.
It was so windy, the current was so strong, that we had a hard time getting our lines down and keeping them in place to be able to have a chance to catch anything.

When we did get to a spot where there was some fish on the fish finder, it seemed like the captain was getting frustrated with our group because the fish kept taking the bait off our hooks and we could not land them. Him and the deckhand kept referencing that we were using up all their bait, and that they might not have enough for later.
When it seemed like we may be doing something wrong as far as our technique goes for landing the fish, the captain started fishing, and he did not catch anything either.

At that point we’ve been out about an hour and a half, and I landed one triggerfish that was too small to keep and we had to throw back.
My sister, managed to catch two remora, that we had to throw back, and that was the extent of the entirety of all the fish we caught for the entire 4-Hour trip.

The highlight of the trip was that we saw what appeared to be a 12 ft bull shark, that had remora swimming around it, which is the reason why my sister was able to even catch anything.

I asked the captain multiple times to go closer to shore where it was less wavy and windy, in hopes that my wife may start to feel better, or that we may be able to try fishing in a different area and potentially catch something, but he insisted that we were in the right spots where we needed to be.

The captain had sent me a picture a few days before our trip, and it was a table full of fish that one of his customers had caught earlier in the week, and he assured me that we’d be able to go to a spot and catch a bunch of fish. On the website where I booked it, there was even a disclaimer that if we didn’t get any fish then we didn’t have to pay, or we could schedule another trip at another time for free.
By the time we started heading back, with no fish to show for our trip, the captain started telling us that he felt bad, n the old tired adage, about a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work, ect
When we got back to the dock, my sister and brother-in-law insisted that I pay him the full $450, plus a $50 tip. I told them we could give him $400, and we could save a hundred and actually BUY some fish that night from the fish market and cook our own meal, since we got NOTHING, but they insisted on him getting the full fare. They said they felt bad for HIM because of the way he was talking on the ride back. In my opinion this was not worth $500. Should have been free, or got a reschedule. Waste of time n money. Do your homework, better options are out there. Honest review.
