A full days fishing with the horizon fishing company.  Nick had comminucated with me over many months and at all times was clear and timely. Sam and didi on the day were well organised and they managed the day professionally. Knowing when to change tackle and type of kit to give us the best opportunity to deliver the catch.
We hooked into 17 tuna and they gave us some fun but by changing some of the smaller lures we targeted bigger fish, no marlin but we hooked into and landed two massive wahoo 40 kg plus which delivered a great fight. Bit early for marlin for those in the know .

Thanks for a great day on the spectacular Indian Ocean. Nicholas was a great host and picked me up from the hotel on time. The boat was good as well as the equipment. The skippers, Simon and Didi was very knowledgable and spotted birds very well, we had a strike almost every time we found bird activity. Caught several good sized Dorado and Wahoo as well Bonito. Unfortunately the Marlin and Tuna avoided us for the day but makes for a good promise to return which I will. I can recommend Horizon to those who want to enjoy a good days fishing in Mauritius thanks to Nicholas and his team.

what can I say, FANTASTIC Trip on Horizon

I had fished with Horizon back in 2001 and had a great time catching fish every day, I just wish I had not left it till now to return to this paradise island and go fishing on Horizon.
The skipper Nicholas and his crew Dede & Simon are fantastic, from the time you are picked up from your hotel and taken to the boat for the whole day you are treated like Royalty and they will do everything they can to get you on the fish. The team make you feel at home aboard and are very friendly even though I don’t know much French we all speak in fishing language and have a good laugh and joke.
I had 6 days fishing on this trip and caught skipjack tuna every day, 2 wahoo were landed 16 & 19lbs. A 22lb dorado and several yellowfin tuna to around 10lb. i am still awaiting the big one, in 2001 I hooked into a marlin of approx. 700lb but it snapped the trace, this trip we had a big strike on day 6 and half the line on the reel was emptied in about 30 seconds but the hook failed to set and yet again another got away, but what a buzz when it strikes.

A big thank you to Nicholas, Dede & Simon for a fantastic 6 days fishing and making me feel like part of the team, the food was excellent even the very hot chilli, I will definitely be back next year on Horizon and lets hope it is 3rd time lucky with the marlin and keep on looking out for the Merville birds Dede & Simon as the fish are under them.

We booked a full day trip with Horizon as after reading their profile I liked the story of the company especially being a family one. One of my life long ambitions was to catch a Blue Marlin which is a big ask I appreciated. The weather was great, conditions great and a good supply of beer too. Within two hours we got a massive strike on the lure but unfortunately we lost the fish (the one that got away) half an hour later we got another great strike which resulted in us landing a 143lb Blue Marlin. A very happy boy indeed. We also managed a haul of around a dozen skipjack during the afternoon so a perfect day indeed. I just wanted to thank Nicholas, Captain Dede and Simon for a great days fishing, the boat was perfect and very well equipped with top quality gear, the crews knowledge and professionalism was very evident from the time of booking to finishing the day on the jetty to a gathered crowd during the weighing and photographing our days bounty. I would highly recommend Horizon and would not hesitate to use them again especially as we were the only boat out of Grand Baie on the day to catch anything. Thanks lads. Mark

Fantastic full day from Horizon Big Game Fishing, within minutes of getting to our destination that the full day trip allowed us to reach we had 2 bites from Wahoos, 1 managed to break free but the other was a great size at 70 pounds which gave an indication of the others size. Crew great and were motivated to catch as many fish as we were… well recommended and great service from Nicholas who was attentive to every email.
