Grand Isle Trout Action!!!

May 6, 2017 Grand Isle

This morning we loaded the boat and headed out at our usual time of 5:30 to get a jump on the early morming bite. We took a anxious 10 min ride to the stomping grounds. It was non-stop action catching trout cast after cast with the occasional redfish in the mix. By 10 we had our 150 trout and 6 redfish. We took the scenic route back to the dock and enjoyed some great fish stories while cleaned and bagged the filets. Thanks again guys for coming fishing with Fin-tastic Charters.

Spring Bite

Today was a fabulous day on the water. The day started out great and got better as it went on. We were blessed with a mild breeze for a change, which allowed us to get out to the honey hole. We were using live shrimp under a popping cork and caught our limit of 125 beautiful big trout by 11:00. It was a picture perfect day. It don't always happen this way, but today was one of those special moments in life that makes memories that last a lifetime.

Fun February Trip

Feb 8, 2017 Grand Isle

Today our trip started out with plenty of fog, but we took our time and made our way to the first fishing hot-spot. We were using a mixture of live shrimp and plastic minnows under a popping cork. In no time Timothy and Preston were reeling in some beautiful Grand Isle speckled trout. But unfortunately a weather front was coming through causing the wind to start blowing hard and the tide to start running out fast. Soon the trout bite was off and we moved into protected waters and hit the next 3 spots with the same result. The trout just refused to bite in the weather conditions. So we changed our target and went for redfish. We pulled into one of my favorite redfish holes and presented live shrimp (Caroline rigged) in front of the rock structure. We were laughing, cutting up and having a good Ole time reeling in the reds. We caught 21 reds, but were only able to boat 6 due to the rest were 1/2" under legal size. But soon the weather turned worst and we had to make out way back to the marina while the seas permitted. We ended up with 25 beautiful specks and 6 reds. Not a bad trip for February. And we made friends and memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks again to Timothy and Preston for choosing me to bring y'all fishing to catch yall's first speckled trout and redfish. See yall again soon.

That is so true Mr Mark. Unfortunately I have yet to harness the power to control mother nature. The winds were blowing in the morning at a steady 15-20mph and increasing to a steady 20-25. But despite the odds, yall still managed to catch over 40 trout with 20 keepers, and a couple of beautiful reds. I want to thank yall for a fun trip and hope Y’all have a wonderful stay in Grand Isle. You and your family were a pleasure to fish with.

We had a great time on the water with captain John. He knew where to take us. We caught several trout & red fish. He is very professional, funny too. Knows how to have a good time & most of all put you on some nice fish. The boat & gear are in excellent shape. He takes pride in his boat. Very clean & orginazed. Our trip was so much fun! All 6 of us had the absolute best experience. We caught our limit in speckled trout. The captain was so nice, and very helpful with us inexperienced fishermen. He navigated the boat to the perfect fishing spots and aided us all in baiting our poles, casting, and reeling. Would most definitely recommend to anybody.
