We spent 10 days in PR with our 4 children, the second to last day we were blessed to decide to go try our hand fishing. My wife and I looked and called and I believe by the grace of God on Good Friday we connected with the Captain Javier and booked an afternoon charter for that same day. My wife, 11 year old and myself arrived at the dock and the boat was clean and stocked with water and pop. He also brought along professional rain gear for us as the forecast was calling for rain. We set out on our charter and he explained that we were going to stop and through a few cast nets for live bait as well as use dead bait on the bottom. Fresh bait is important in the waters where you find tarpon and this is an important step so it’s not taking away from your fishing time, it is increasing the chances of successfully hooking into good fish. We trolled and he marked some fish as well as we could spot them top water. After some casting and waiting we got a solid hit on live bait and my son started his fight with a nice size tarpon which with some great coaching he landed. He also got a good sized snook. I picked up a pole that had dead bait and hooked into a monster 40 mins and countless battles later we as it was a team effort landed a 120 ish lb monster that was the size of my 11 year old son!! 100% recommend fishing with him and remember it’s fishing not catching so enjoy the time on the boat relax and if your blessed you will get to fight one too.

Fishing with Santiago was great! My husband and I arrived and Santiago explained everything to us. We anchored at one place with no bites and then moved on to another place. 5-7 lost fish and 3 whoppers caught. It was exhilarating! After hearing how large they were, I realized that I probably did not have the strength to reel one in, so I enjoyed watching my husband do the work. It was a great day!

If you guys are in Puerto Rico and looking for an amazing time. Hit him up! Amazing guy and an expert. If you want to have a great time and catch some big fish this is the guy. Captain Santiago is an awesome captain to fish with! We had a great time and he guided me to my first tarpon on the fly! He is very knowledgeable of his fishing area and is confident in finding fish. He keeps changing tactics to help with putting you on the fish, and is ready with everything to give you success. His boat is clean and well maintained, his tackle is first rate and excellent for the quarry. I will definitely use him again on my next trip to Puerto Rico! Had an awesome time on this trip. Captain was super knowledgeable and answered any question that we had. Kept us on fish all day, No matter the changing conditions, extremely personable and helped us anyway he could. Me and my wife were both able to land Awesome fish and had an incredible time.
