Last couple of weeks we’ve had some days where we were catching 3 to 5 sails a day than out of no where current shifted and went from north current to south current and bam just like that the bite slowed down. Don’t get me wrong one here and one there but not in the numbers we were catching. THAN north current again and bam now more sails being caught. But luckily there have been a few black fin tunas as well as a few bonitos to fill in some of the slow gaps. Sailfish Fishing I mean catching off Fort Lauderdale February 21st This morning with we set out deep sea fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale with Harrison and 3 of his good friends for a few hours of kite fishing. WOW we had no idea what a great trip we were in for. We had 2 kites in the air with 2 live baits suspended from each kite once the trap was set the wait was not long with king mackerel striking our baits left and right. But we had monofilament leaders and the were biting threw them with their razor sharp teeth. But we did get lucky with one fowl hooked and we managed to get him in the boat. BUT kings were not our targets we were looking for BIG SAIL FISH!! And all of a sudden here they came and I mean 2 here another one there. It was crazy and what a ball. We ended up catching 3 sailfish 1 mahia and that one unlucky king. And the best part we had to pick up an afternoon trip and we had plenty of live bait so needless to say we were stoked. As we backed in from our morning trip we had Jayson his wife Summer and last but not least their son Brooks that Fishing Booker had set us up with and talk about the perfect trip. Once again out went the kites with the live baits suspended from them BAM one after another BUT the coolest part was this young man Brooks he was a bad ass and yep he reeled in a big black fin tuna along with a couple sailfish. WOW we ended up catching them 4 sailfish and a nice 20-pound tuna and 2 king fish. We ended up catching 7 sailfish for the day and we also reeled in some new friends needless to say it was a day to remember not just for our anglers but Daniel my mate and myself Taco a day we wont forget. Bottom Fishing Ft Lauderdale Today was another beautiful day off the coast of Fort Lauderdale clear blue water and a very comfortable 72 degrees makes for a great day of fishing. However we did have one little problem FULL MOON and fishing was slow. We started out trolling for Wahoo’s since we managed to catch a couple nice ones the other day but today we just could not seem to find them. Ok so than we set out to catch some small bonitos to use as live bait and fish some of the wrecks BUT they were not biting either RATS. If nothing is working try try again!! So we decided to think outside of the box and tried something new. We went out to around 700 feet out water and put a couple live baits out on the surface and sent down a 3-hook rig on an electric reel to the bottom. BINGO finally paid off with a couple XL Golden Tile fish. Talk about good eating it’s nick name is poor mans lobster and after cooking a piece in butter and garlic I see why DELICIOUS!! Today, fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale started out slow. We had three fathers, Al Dave and Michael, who brought along their sons. Daniel Benny, and James Was flat calm and the water was clear blue beautiful day on the water slow fishing, but we kept trying different methods and bam it finally paid off , hooking into a doubleheader wahoo turn the slow day into a great day. Deep Sea Fishing Fort Lauderdale Aboard Hooked Up Well it’s that time of the year again where all the kids go back to school and we’re not fishing as much and to top it off throw in election year yep thing have slowed down quite a bit lately. But this gives us the time to do lots of maintenance on our boat and this year we Went all out!! New engines New Generator New props New toilet New tackle ECT So we are ready kick some butt a catch fish. However we have managed to get out on some fishing trips and it looks like the new engines have great harmonics in the water. We’ve caught a couple sailfish that came right to the back of the boats to eat our baits less the 15 feet behind the boat along with a 50 pound Cubera Snapper that came up from 150 feet down to eat a small bonito we were slow trolling right behind the boat. Along with the usual suspects Kingfish bonitos yellow tail snappers and a couple Wahoo’s. Not as many boats out there fishing right now witch means less pressure of the fish and more fish for you.
