First of all I’m sorry to hear that you were not happy with your experience with us. We take great pride in giving all of our clients the best experience we can, which is something that is showed on our many 5-star reviews. As there are always two sides to every story I would respectfully like to share ours.

January is a windy month in Tamarindo, so as a way of giving our clients a better experience we offer all our clients an earlier start. The reason for that is that the mornings are normally calmer. This is optional and never forced from our side.

It was quite windy on your trip in combination with a big swell which means it will be a bit rocky on the boat. In these conditions the captain will do his best to find calmer places to go and also try different fishing techniques such as bottom fishing. Aside from the snapper you had quite a few hookups for large fish but they were lost, which is something that can happen when fishing.

The crew did clean your snapper and offered to fillet it which you declined since you said you were going to bbq it. If you had a change of plans I wish you would have let us know so that we could have helped you fillet. It’s something we always offer for out clients.

Finally regarding payment. Sometimes you will catch lots of fish and sometimes not - that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching. We can’t charge differently depending on what you catch. We still need to provide gasoline, bait, drinks, deck hand etc. We really try our best to keep our prices accessible.
Again, I’m very sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Me and my husband Daniel run this charter with much love and at the end of the day all we want is for our clients to leave with a smile on their face!
