- Captain José Serrão was born on Madeira Island in April, 1973. At the age of 15 he emigrated to South Africa with his family, living in Cape Town for 12 years and working for commercial fishing in the area. In the year 2000, he returned to Madeira Island and has since been working as a captain for Madeira Big Game Fishing Company aboard the vessel 'Our Mary.'
- Techniques
- The boat 'Our Mary' comes fully equipped with fighting chair by GameFisher, Riggers, Rod's and Reels (by Shimano) and Lures. Tackle is provided with Shimano Tiagra fishing reels: ' 130', '80' and '50'. We do Big Game Fishing trawling for the big Blue Marlins, White Marlins, Spearfish or Billfish, Big Eye Tuna, Blue Fin Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Dourados (Mahi-Mahi), Wahoos and Barracuda! We also do some Skate Fishing for Stingrays and Tope with Shimano reels weighing 30 pounds. Light tackle also provided for Bottom Fishing like Red snappers, Groupers, trigger fish, Amberjacks, Blue fish, breamfish, mackerel fish, etc.
