Captain
Craig Mick

Member since May 2022 Pensacola, United States
Background
Captain Craig started working the docks of Miami in the early 70s as a boat washer and standby mate. After being away from south Florida for some time, he moved back and fished with his brother every chance they got. His brother then bought a charter boat and started fishing charters out of Key Biscayne. A short time later, Capt. Craig became a captain as well. In 1988, he went from a 6-pack to 100-ton. Capt. Craig has fished waters from Palm Beach to Key West and throughout the Bahamas, winning several tournaments along the way. He bought and outfitted his 25' Contender in 1987. The captain fished charters on that boat part-time with Haulover Inlet being his home. He became too busy (popular) running private sportfishing boats up to 72 feet. He later gave up the fast life to raise a family, took on a "real job", and moved to Pensacola, fishing every chance he and his wife could. The all-around fishing experience and knowledge he possesses separate him from most captains.
Techniques
Kite fishing is my favorite technique of fishing for sailfish however here in the Gulf we will fish mainly for Snapper grouper anchoring over wrecks or artificial reefs.
