Background
My father used to run fishing charters back in the UK but in 1983 got fed up with the bad weather so decided to move his family to Tenerife to try his luck in warmer waters. When we arrived here he was the first boat to offer fishing charters in Tenerife and being a young 7 year old fishing enthusiast I spent every day that I could out on the boat, at one time the whole family had to live on board as things never went to plan and I used to have to see my home go fishing every week day whilst I went to school. Finally in 1990 we figured out where the marlin were hiding in Tenerife and had the best year ever. A few years later when I left school I got sent back to the UK to do a 5 year apprenticeship on the River Thames, in 1998 I earned my Freedom of the Company of Watermen & Lightermen of the River Thames and came back to Tenerife full time, by now my father had passed the company on but it wasnt long before I got my own boat.
Techniques
We have a wide range of fish to catch, during the months of October, November and December we troll for wahoo, pick up some live Herring and go for the Amberjack and Dentex on the bottom, these are very hard fighters. From January to May we are tuna fishing, to start the season we chum for Yellowfin, Big Eyes and Albacore until mid February, then the same fish start to take a lure, so trolling is the preferred method then. At the beginning of March the Bluefin Tuna arrive and over the last couple of years we have done very well, we hooked 27 this year, caught 26 of them (catch and release),this is great fun, biggest this year about 650 lbs. Around the mid May until September we start looking for the Blue and White Marlin, Spearfish, Mahi-Mahi, Skipjack tuna. This year we have equipped the boat with electric teaser reels to offer the Switch and Bait method, we are the only boat who offers this method. If any of these methods fail then we always do some bottom fishing so you can catch.

3/4 Day Trip with Happy Hooker

VERIFIED   3/4 Day Trip on May 3, 2018
A day’s fishing that I wished could’ve resulted in some big catches, but however, the captain and the crew did their best...

June fishing trip

VERIFIED   Half Day Trip (AM) on June 5, 2017
Nice boat and crew. Tenerife s no Cabo or Guatemala! Fishing is not what it is there. 500 euros for a four hour trip is a lot....
