                - Background
- Growing up fishing with my dad I developed a passion and love for the sport. As a teenager in high school, my dream job was to be a deckhand on a charter boat. In my first year of high school, I met my future wife, a fisherman's blessing! You see, her dad is the owner and captain of one of the oldest and most well-known charter boats in Biloxi – the Miss Hospitality Charters. Long story short, I fell for the girl and got my dream job working for one of the greatest captains on the coast. I had the best teacher, Capt. Kenny, teach me how to run a charter business. I saved my money and after graduating high school, I went to Captain's school and got my 100-ton captain's license. I was 18 at the time, the youngest captain on the coast. In 1995, I bought The Shearwater, and here we are 23 years later. Doing what I love, loving what I do! Teaching my boys the business. My oldest son is my deckhand and my youngest son helps out on my father in law's boat! It's definitely a family business.
- Techniques
- Never dock the boat with an empty fish cooler! No bananas on board!
