- Background
- My father got me started fishing when I was around 5 years old. His love of fishing rubbed off on me and then some... I have been river fishing for a variety of fish my whole life. I first began guiding in Northern California in the late 90's and made the move up to Alaska in 1998. Fishing is my life. What can I say, I love to fish. I also really enjoy meeting new people, learning things from them, and hopefully teaching them a few things along the way. I love to fish with kids, it is really a blast to watch their expressions, enthusiasm, and excitement. It is one of the most rewarding experiences a fishing guide could have.
- Techniques
- I fish rivers for all types of Salmon, trout, Striped Bass & Sturgeon. I like to use lightweight tackle when conditions warrant, but big Kings on the Kenai River will tear lightweight gear to shreds!! When fishing for kings, my preferred method is back-bouncing bait. Feeling that fish strike your bait and the force they grab it with is unbelievable.
