Background: I have to credit my dad for helping me discover my love for fishing at a very young age. My dad would take me to the beach and we would seine for glass minnows when I was barely old enough to wade into the surf. Fast forward to my teenage years and it was my dad who introduced me to the Outer Banks. My first offshore fishing trip was with Rom Whitaker during his first year as a captain at Hatteras Harbor. He made a big impression on me and encouraged me to take my own small boat out to the Gulf Stream, that's how I got started.

Hank took us out for an afternoon- evening fish trip. My family had the most beautiful relaxing evening - Hank is very patient and knowledgeable and has an easy going demeanor which made us feel instantly at home. Caught a few trout and got to see some dolphins as an added treat! Highly recommend!

You guys are the best! I really enjoyed fishing with you and your family. Everyone was so patient, even in tough conditions. If you lived any closer, I would hire Nick as a mate. I hope I get a chance to fish with you all again. Please keep me in mind when you return to the Outer Banks.

A great full day trip with Captain Hank !!! We drifted live baits for King Mackerel and made our six fish limit in four hours. The fish ranged from @ 20 - 35 lbs. each. His knowledge of the area and his fishing experience was very evident. We located the first King within the first 45 minutes of the trip. Jim - thanks for the review! I’ll likely be moving the boat to Hatteras Oct/Nov time frame to get in on the king mackerel bite that is unique to Hatteras. Let me know if you want to live bait for kings this fall - I would love to take you. Capt. Hank

Captain Hank and First Mate Hunter put us on speckled trout early. My son and I both caught some fish and we put a couple keepers on ice to bring home. We enjoyed our morning as we moved to a couple different spots and learned about fishing in the area. The boat worked flawlessly and all gear was well prepared ahead of time with no issues. Hank and crew made you feel like you knew them all your life. We will plan to go again.

Three of us had a great time with Hank and his mate for a 4 hour afternoon. I got a quick lesson as a beginner and started fishing. We tried a couple spots and got some great boat time in. While we didn’t get any bites, we had a blast on the boat and got the name of a great fish market!
