We had the BEST time fishing with Tyler. The weather for our original booking ended up being rainy, but Tyler was ahead of things two days in advanced and offered to switch to a better weather day. I was nervous taking our two young children (ages 2 years old and 6 months old), but they had a blast! Tyler was so helpful in explaining everything, finding the best fishing spots, and filleting our fish for the best fried trout dinner!! We highly recommend this experience!

We previously went out with Pure Angling in Oct 2022. On both trips, we caught our limit of large cisco. That’s a lot of fish for a party of two last year and three this year! Captain Tyler is very personable and easy going. He has many years of experience fishing in this area. He is patient and considerate and worked hard during the entire trip. Besides piloting his boat, he kept all the lines and lures set up in the water as well as netting the fish. At the end of our trip, he filleted or otherwise dressed all the fish per our requests. Captain Tyler is great at what he does and will do everything he can to make your trip enjoyable. We’re looking forward to going out with him again next spring.

We are avid fisherman and do a lot of charters. I wanted to find a charter that would fit within the schedule of our trip, was going to be in relatively calm waters, and that was close to our campground. A charter in Grand Traverse Bay was perfect. We envisioned eating lake trout on the campfire for our last day at Holiday Park Campground, and Captain Tyler made that vision a reality. Within the first ten minutes out in the water, he put us on the fish! This was my daughter’s first charter and she caught the first lake trout; and it was a big one. Captain Tyler kept us on the right path in Grand Traverse Bay and we landed some amazing fish the whole time! Coho Salmon, Cisco, and and some big lake trout! We caught pretty much every species he targets on his expertly equipped boat. He explained everything and we learned a ton about the fish and the area. Do not hesitate to book this charter! He knows the waters and will put you on the fish! I’m writing this after cooking up some delicious lake trout on the campfire. We will definitely be back out on his boat when we are up here again! Capt Tyler knows the bay and where the fish hide.  Within 5 min of setting rods my daughter was hooked on a good trout.  We had 3/4 of our limit within a half hour. So we switched from trolling to jigging.  Capt Tyler had about a dozen jigging spots.  There were fish at all of them.  Lots of fish, and huge balls of bait.  Capt Tylers electronics on his boat are top notch.  He can see your jig, bait and the trout on the sonar and guide your jig to the exact depth.  He can even see fish moving to check out your jig and can tell by their behavior if they’ll bite.  And he was right 80% of the time.  Capt Tyler was a great teacher to my daughter and had her jigging like a pro in 10min.  My daughter caught most of the fish. Jigging is a great opportunity to get a big laker on light tackle.  The fish are a 10min boat ride from the launch, the bay is calm and the fish are there Tyler knows where and how to catch them.
