Techniques: One of my favorite fishing techniques involves trolling with planer boards with both live and artificial baits. I find that this method produces a better quantity, quality, and variety of species. Generally it allows me to have up to 6 simultaneous bait presentations which means more fish in the boat for you!! When the situation calls for it, I also rely upon jigging and casting strategies.

A beautiful day on Lake Chickamauga yielded a variety of species, including some nice 13-14 inch crappie. All fish were trolled using jigs and crankbaits trolled at 12-16 foot depths over submerged creek flats in 18-20 FOW.

Despite the weather conditions, you mastered the spider rig technique and landed couple of crappie just short of the 14 inch mark that would have earned you a Tennessee Angler Recognition certificate!
