Finally got a break in what has been a bad stretch of weather on Lake Chickamauga. Landed 29 crappie today; unfortunately lots of small fish mixed in . Water temperature was 72 degrees and the fish were taken either trolling or tightlining over brushpiles.

Jerry and Jay worked hard today for about 20 crappies, but with only a few keepers. Biggest fish of the day was a 13.5 inch white crappie. Here are some photos of the larger fish.

Rained all day, but there was none of the infernal wind we've been dealing with lately. Jerry and Jay had a good day and are looking forward to fishing with me again tomorrow. In addition to the crappie, we took two nice-sized channel cats which we released. Water temperature was 69 and all fish were taken from 10-15 depths over 20-25 FOW. Fish were equally taken on crappie jigs and crankbaits.

Who says crankbaits don't catch crappie? These were taken pushing and pulling crankbaits and jigs, but crankbaits were the order of the day.
