you couldn’t ask for a better peacock bass fishing trip! Diego had us on the fish from the very moment we started fishing. We followed him through some urban areas and just had a blast. We always wanted to catch Peacock bass and Captain Diego made that a reality quickly and all day long! He was the best captain you could ask for, kept us informed on what we were doing, friendly, and moved when we needed to move to stay on top of the fish. I joined captain Diego for a 8 hour trip yesterday and boy did we have a blast. We started off the day going for peacock bass and other canal fish on the fly. Sometimes with fly fishing, it’s a challenge to get in sync with the guide. My advice is to remain coachable, no matter how much experience you have or where you may have fished before, being open to constructive criticism and honest feedback is critical to being successful especially in waterways you’ve never fished before. Capt. Diego and I got in sync quickly. I had my cast dialed in after some trial and error and Diego was patient and helpful throughout. He made a recording of my cast for me to look at to remember the adjustments later. We then spent the early evening trolling for tarpon and on our second pass through the area, we hooked up with a 30 incher weighing 15-20lbs. Diego’s communication during this battle went above and beyond as he helped me not only hook the fish and fight it for 15 minutes, but bring it right up to the boat. This fish was smart as he kept going under the boat, doing is acrobatic flips and head shakes and at the end when he saw the net, he jumped over it twice and that’s when the hook came loose. It was a memorable evening to say the least and I will be back for more. We capped off the evening looking for snakeheads which was a whole different challenge as you have to cast quickly and accurately, pretty much in the dark, lol. I had a bite but old habits of setting the hook too soon got the best of me. I will definitely fish with Captain Diego again and I encourage all of you to do the same. He was super friendly, down to earth, relatable and extremely professional. His gear and bait offerings were top notch as well. Ask him to bring some cuban coffee! That stuff is LEGIT!!! Thanks Captain, I can’t wait to come back and fish with you again. Next time we will land that tarpon as well as a snakehead!!! Tight lines my brother! Thanks for all that you do!!

Phenomenal guide in Captain Diego and a fabulous time! I highly recommend him & his fishing trips!

In a little over 2 hours, we caught 7 fish, including 2 of the peacock bass that was my priority, as well as a good variety of other species.

Captain Diego is very fun and conversational and did a super job in putting me on fish and coaching me on technique, as well as giving me an option to also fish for a little while at the end at a special fishing lake which is fed from the Everglades.

Terrific experience and highly recommend it!

This fishing trip was amazing ! We all caught multiple fish . Our guide Diego was so knowledgeable, friendly and had the best personality! He made the trip so fun. He showed us different fish and other wildlife.  I really wasn’t expecting to have this much action. It was way more fun than deep sea fishing for me and my son. We stayed busy and active the whole trip , and we all wanted for it not to end.  Diego is a great guide to request too.

Really enjoyed my time, tried a few different spots and caught a load of fish. Diego was a good hang as well.
