We had a blast with Captain Mike on the water and his attention to detail and our fishing experience was great; the expedient hustle of getting us baited up and set and fishing was impressive. The perfect mix of the music system and a fast, comfortable and clean boat where notable attributes that made our time on the water that much more enthralling and pleasurable…! Captain Mike’s upbeat and positive energy set the inspiring tone for the day. We had a blast…! You would too: we highly recommend…!

This fishing trip was really nice and fun, specially for my son first time fishing on a boat.
Capitán Mike gave us a brief safety meeting on board before departure.
That’s what I was looking for spending times with old friends and my son.
Capitán Mike was really helpful rigging and setting the bait on the hooks, and by the end of the day he filet the fish.
I’ll definitely come back for yellow tail and tuna.
Also I will recommend this trip to Coronado Islands on a nice reliable boat.

Me, my wife and my 19-year old son had a terrific day on the water with Captain Silva. We booked a half day afternoon trip and at his prompting adjusted the time to a 10am start as his schedule was open. First of all, Captain Silva is just a genuinely nice guy. His boat is in great condition and well taken care of. We showed up, got a tour of the boat and a safety briefing, then we picked up bait from the bait barge and headed out. We had lines in the water by about 10:30. We fished near shore, just off La Jolla. Things started out a bit slow with a couple small calico bass, but by about noon I had hooked a Yellow Tail. I’m missing some of the pictures and will try to post later. I’m not an expert fisherman by any stretch, but Captain Silva was right there calmly talking me through it for the next 15 or 20 minutes as the fish drug out line and fought the good fight. We successfully landed that Yellow Tail, easily the largest fish I’ve ever caught. The rest of the day brought in a dozen our so calico bass and my son caught a really cool looking red and black Sheeps Head.

We had a great experience. If you have a crew looking to get crazy, drink a bunch and go wild, Captain Silva might not be your guy. But if you have a family, even one with young kids, or just a group of people looking for a great day fishing with a Captain and a guide who knows his stuff, I highly recommend Silva Scales N’ Tales! I don’t think you’ll find a better boat or a better guy to take you out.

Captain Mike is the best! He is both experienced and knowledgeable. My son and I went out to Coronados’ for a full day. Mike was in commination with other Captains regarding location and methods the entire day while implementing his own. My son and I caught out limits of yellowtail.  Great time and forever memories.  Will definitely go fishing with Captain Mike again. A+

Captain Mike’s boat has THREE engines!  It was reassuring to see 3 modern engines on his boat as well as the latest electronic navigation devices.  Needless to say, I felt relaxed and could focus on the task at hand-catching fish :)
Captain Mike shared with us his knowledge how he looks for fish, some of the tell-tale signs on the water and the best techniques for reeling in fish.  I plan to take another trip in Fall with some friends and have recommended his company to my coworkers
