Slow day but still csught dinner

A very sloppy ocean today kept us from heading down the beach to the offshore reefs. Caught some shorts and bluefish but got a 20 inch keeper.

Started out in sloppy conditions with wind against tide. After some moves and a change of tides we got on the fish and caught a bunch of shorts and a 4 lbs and a 5 lbs. the wind switched to the south and started blowing which killed the bite.

Capt. Karl bled for us as we caught ~25 dogfish… The experience was fun and learned a few things. We ended up with a wonderful fluke for fish tacos (had to throw back 5 bc too small). Great guy and a great time.

We had a great time with Captain Karl. He was knowledgeable and very nice. We trolled for stripers and caught a few and Karl was a man of integrity who followed all the fishing regulations and taught us about it as well. We will definitely come back again with hopes to go into the ocean and catch other types of fish in the ocean over the summer!
