I started fishing at an early age, and started taking the sport seriously in my early 20's. Since then, I have spent all my free time on the water running my own boat, or fishing with others who enjoy the sport. I have spent considerable time studying and learning from established veteran fisherman on what techniques to use, and how to run a boat. I like to involve the crew if they like while on board, and I enjoy showing our clients how and why we use various methods to catch fish. We put an emphasis on making sure you will have a fun time while aboard our boat the "Double Down"!
Techniques
We like to troll light tackle for Striped Bass, as I hate fighting the gear and not the fish. Generally, we like to make things easy on our clients so they have an enjoyable time, that they can remember and come back to fish with us again in the future!

We have had good fortune of having incredible bluefin tuna bite relatively close to home. Plenty of action with 36โ€ to 65โ€ bluefin tuna being caught with the occasional yellowfin mixed in. We will be running offshore trips until late october, weather permitting!

Weโ€™ve runs few catch and release trips for Giant Bluefin tuna and managed to land a few before the July/August quota shut down. Weโ€™ve had multiple fish in the 400-500 lb range and tbe largest being 101โ€ weigning in at 485 lbs gutted! September quota is open and we will be running trips for these beast for the first 3 weeks of September as the early fall bite is hot!

We ran a full day offshore giant tuna charter yesterday snd treated our customers to a great experience. We had whales, feeding around the boat plenty of life all around. We missed a run off early in the day but got our second chance shortly after lunch when our down rod went off. We had the fish in the line for about 45 min before losing it 15 feet from the boat. Thats fishing as they say. The opprotunity to get to experience a battle with a giant tuna is happening now!
