This is not true. I had made arrangements with the restaurant that was buying the remainder of the tuna that there would be a portion missing as my guests would like to take some home. We never deny our guests fish unless we don’t catch fish. We don’t have to give any fish as our guests pay to enjoy the experience of deep sea fishing. However we do give our guests fish to take home and eat. We have had charters in the past that have presumed that they will get the entire catch. Most tourists to our island do not need 50-100 pounds of fish while on vacation in Bermuda and if they do get this amount of fish they cannot consume it and they end up selling it to try to make money back on their charter which is 100% illegal. As I had explained to Mary’s airbnb host who called me questioning our policy, this is not a casino it is a charter fishing business which cost on average $600-$900 per day to run. The sale of fish is very important for us to make a profit. These guests walked away from our boat with approximately $40 of free fish from the kindness of our hearts.
