A group of 3 gentlemen wanted a late start on a morning trip when we usually start way earlier in the morning. Starting at the time your Captain suggests will improve your chances of catching fish as the window of opportunity is wider. We where able to land only one tarpon out 4 tarpons hooked during this specific morning trip!! We had a total of 8 tarpon strikes, tarpon can be elusive as they are very fierce and acrobatic once hooked. You have to point out the rod so they won’t be able to shake the hook off, most of the time if you don’t do it as explained at the beginning of the trip will mean loosing your tarpon as he will shake the hook off and is game over. I even stayed 30 extra minutes when the time was over. Remember fishing is fishing.

Yes Leonard! I always try my best and believe there’s no other person than myself that wants for you to catch a tarpon. Wehad plenty of tarpons around us they weren’t hungry during your 4 hour trip. I’m one the most experienced guide in the island with over 40 years of experience and have caught thousands of big tarpons. At the moment we had a full moon and a big cold front and the bite was completely off that morning and the fish where at the bottom. I understand your disappointment but that’s fishing and I cannot control Mother Nature and order the fish to bite. We Rarely have a day so slow. But it is completely unfair to say those insane and malicious statements. Please don’t guide the guide and fishing it’s not always a fantasy show. Trying to cast at them with artificial wasn’t going to help either as we would have killed any chance by spooking them. They were finicky and skittish during that mega full moon. I have more tackle in my boat than any other guide around here. Good days and bad days happen. Your comments are completely absurd and with malicious intent. Why wait to be behind a computer and miles away when you could have asked during the time we spent fishing. That same day they started bitting in the afternoon. That’s why they call it fishing and next time ask your guide any questions this way you can learn more.
