What a great half-day on the water fishing with the best crew, Jerry and Luis, on Blue Tail II.  They worked hard all afternoon to try to put my wife and I on fish despite the extreme heat.  Our crew was focused, but patient and confident, all day.  We finally landed a pretty yellowfin tuna at 4pm.  We trolled all the way back to the marina trying to land that special fish. And then, 10 minutes outside the marina—- BAM!!!  Trophy 9ft sailfish hit and took my line for a long ride. Jerry and Luis expertly coached me to land that beautiful fish and it was truly enormous. Jerry and Luis were so excited and happy about it as well. Our patience had been rewarded. By the time we landed it and got into the dock, we had run 30 minutes over.  And Jerry and Luis were all smiles, especially after hearing that was the only sailfish landed the entire day from all the charters. We can’t say enough about our crew!!! Thank you Jerry and Luis for the catch of a lifetime!  We will come back to fish with you and Cabo Sportfishing - Blue Tail II again soon.

This past Wednesday we went on a fishing trip, hosted by Luis and Angel, and it was a once is a lifetime experience! Not even 45 minutes into the trip, we caught a Wahoo, which Luis and Angel said was incredible considering it didn’t bite the line off and there is only a small chance of actually succeeding in getting a Wahoo into the boat! For lunch, they had made homemade burritos that were on the most DELICIOUS tortilla. We listened to music and drank beers before we got another fish on the line, this time it was a MARLIN! Angel was patient with me while he taught me how to reel it in, and they took photos for us holding it before releasing it back into the water. At the end of the trip, they showed us where to get it filleted, and we gave them half the fish as a thank you, and also because we would never be able to eat it all! Luis and Angel made the trip even more exciting and fun than we ever anticipated, and we will definitely be booking another trip with them for our future stay in Cabo.

Capt. Jose Luis and 1st Mate Freddy were excellent! The boat and equipment were in great condition as well. Right out of the marina, we were hooked up on fish, and it didn’t stop there, a nice dorado and a 350 lb marlin.

Freddy was attentive and truly worked for the fish, constantly changing lures and refreshing the bait. Once the marlin was spotted, they locked in and did everything they could to get a hit. I’ve never seen a mate move faster.

Once we hooked up, the captain, mate, and boat functioned as one single entity built to catch fish, working together to bring it in. After an hour and 20 minutes, it was alongside the boat: an estimated 350 lb marlin measuring 136 inches.

We booked this trip about a month prior to our vacation.  We were a group of three couples on vacation with our wives and the men took an 8 hour charter.  None of us had been deep sea fiahing before and we were all really looking forward to it.

Gilbert and Rafael were the crew for the day and they did their best to catch some fish.  We caught a small fish right out of the gate and then a small Mahi about 10 or 15 minutes later.  After that it was nothing for about the next 6 1/2 hours. 

The weather wasnt the greatest.  it was pretty rough and quite honestly a pretty uncomfortable day.  Rafael changes lures a couple times and we did get a bte from something and lost our live bait once and had to reload.  i have no doubt they know what they’re doing.  It was juat a bad day and we were pretty disappojnted.

Then 7 hours and 40 minutes into our 8 hour trip, we hooked a 150 pound Sailfish and turned our disappointing day into an unforgettable experience of a lifetime.  It pays to be patient.  It’s fishing!

I recommend these guys.  Good guys.  We had enough beer, good food, and caught the biggest fish of our life.

The day started out slow but Alex and Juan had me hooked onto something that push me to the limit of my endurance and after the third time it plunged back down and spooled what seemed like hundreds of feet of line i ended up losing tension and it spit the hook. they rebaitd and starte again.  it was slow but after time went by the reel starte singing again and I saw the jump i the distance then the fight was on. After why seemed like an hour i was able to reel in a 100” beautiful Sailfish. Alex asked me what i wanted to do with it and i asked if i could get a pic with it then release it back to the ocean to fight another day. After this the fishig slowed but Juan and Alex helped me make memories i will never forget. spend the money book th day and buythe live bait.
