Captain Gilbert and Andreas were absolutely the best to work with on our Marlin fishing trip. My 16 year old and I booked this trip as a fun getaway with a chance to catch a prize. As it turns out, within 30 minutes of getting to the fishing grounds, we not only hooked one marlin, but two at the same time. Within seconds da we saw one of the jump out of the water about 150 yards off the back of the boat.

I lost on after a short 15 minute stint in the fighting chair, but my son kept battling. Gilbert and Andreas worked together to keep us in the optimal position to assist in getting the marlin on board. After an hour, my son got the 8.5 foot Striped Marlin on board! The food and drink provided were perfect for the trip. Andreas kept us entertained and informed us along the way of what we needed and how things worked.

When we returned to the dock, they assisted us in having a taxidermist waiting for us to arrange in shipping the prized possession.

I searched for many boats that accommodate 6. This was one of the most fair prices I had looked at and there was a lot to choose from. They offered an all inclusive package that included beer soda and water as well as a box lunch that had snacks and some outstanding home made burritos! This was my first time sport fishing in Cabo but right away I could tell these guys were top notch. As soon as we started to leave the arch area, 45 mins into the trip we catch a couple small bait fish as well as another small Bonita I believe. Those were just never warm ups for what was to follow. Within 2 hours and 30 minutes we find ourselves in the middle of boat chaos. Our captain and his deck hand yelling back and forth. Other boats swirling around us. Me being oblivious to the situation, all of a sudden my kids yell dad get in the seat and reel in the fish. We were in the middle of a marlin feeding frenzy and I was in the fight of my life with a huge stripped marlin. It was truly one of the most beautiful fish I had ever seen! Then they snagged another and my daughter’s boyfriend reeled it in. It was truly an incredible experience and I can’t thank this crew enough!! You guys rock!!

We arrived by cruise ship at 1:00 p.m. and booked the full-day charter, knowing we wouldn’t get the full eight hours in—but it was absolutely worth it. Lunch was excellent, and Captain Juan and First Mate Juan were the best crew in Cabo. My wife and I had a double hookup and each landed a striped marlin over 100 lbs!

On the way back, we hooked into a dolphin (mahi-mahi) and were treated to an incredible show from a pod of dolphins and flying manta rays. The crew used several techniques to keep us on the fish, and we had an absolute blast with these two professionals. Highly recommend!

WOW! WHAT A DAY! Slayed em with Cabo Sportfishing on boat Robalo!  Booked an All Day trip. About an hour in caught a small Dorado. But then….Boom! A large Sailfish. Then within the next hour a HUGE Sailfish! Took 20 minutes to land it. Deck Hand Freddy,” That’s a huge Sailfish! One of the biggest I have ever caught. You should mount it” I took his advice. :) I don’t know where I’m going to hang it though! LOL! Then around 9:45 am as we were trolling back towards the Sea of Cortez in the Pacific side. Boom Again! Captin Ruben is a master at seeing fish and knowing when they strike from his tower. Nice Striped Marlin was jumping out of the water about 75 yards away from the boat then pulled my line to maybe 200! Real spinning like mad!
Freddy told me the four other boats in the company had only gotten one Dorado between the four of them as of 10:00am. What’s the difference….? Possibly experience and knowledge. Freddy has been fishing as a Deck Hand for over15 years. Captain Ruben, I think over 25 years. They know the waters and conditions and where to go, what tackle to use, and how fast to troll. Never lost a fish. Hooks set!
They were both cheering me on as I fought the fish. So Fun!
Freddy joked, “Its because you gave us a big tip BEFORE we left dock.” LOL!
Needless to say I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cabo Sportfishing and Captain Ruben and his Deck Hand Freddy! for you next time fishingin CaboSan Lucas! I am!

We decided to book a fishing trip for our first time in Cabo.  My son is 12 and loves fishing, I also took my wife and mother in law, both brand new to fishing. The boat was immaculate, and as soon as we walked on it Our guide Joel was friendly, energetic and extremely knowledgeable. We first caught a few bait fish which was fun for my son and then we headed out to chase the big guys. We immediately landed a mahi mahi.  Then after about 2 hours of trolling Joel says I’m going to change lures to see if we can attract some tuna.  Writhing 10 minutes our line went crazy and we were on a big fish.  We fought and fought and finally got a monster yellow fin tuna on the boat.  WHAT AN EXPERIENCE.  I’ll never forget this trip and the kindness and hospitality the crew showed.  I highly recommend this trip to any aspiring fisherman, BUT, if you land a tuna, be prepared to work!  It paid off and was one of the best trips of my life!!  Thank you Cabo Sport Fishing Crew!!
