If you’re ready to discover fishing in Cabo San Lucas, look no further than Cabo Sportfishing Crew. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Ruben knows them forwards and back.
There’s no guarantee when you’re fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Sailfish, Pacific Barracuda, Swordfish, and more with any luck. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Capt. Jose runs a 31’ Uniflite sportfishing boat with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
Now’s the time to experience fishing in Cabo San Lucas for yourself, with Cabo Sportfishing Crew!

Capt. Jose Luis and 1st Mate Freddy were excellent! The boat and equipment were in great condition as well. Right out of the marina, we were hooked up on fish, and it didn’t stop there, a nice dorado and a 350 lb marlin. Freddy was attentive and truly worked for the fish, constantly changing lures and refreshing the bait. Once the marlin was spotted, they locked in and did everything they could to get a hit. I’ve never seen a mate move faster. Once we hooked up, the captain, mate, and boat functioned as one single entity built to catch fish, working together to bring it in. After an hour and 20 minutes, it was alongside the boat: an estimated 350 lb marlin measuring 136 inches.
This was our third time fishing with Robalo. The crew (Freddie) was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The captain seemed to know exactly where the fish were. We hooked and landed two nice-sized yellowfin tuna and decided to end the trip early. Freddie also put us in touch with a processor who met us at the dock and had our fish ready for transport the nfollowing day. We can't wait to return to Cabo and fish with Robal again!
We went with Jose and Rafael. Clean well maintained boat. Crew was attentive to make sure everyone is well. Served us food and drinks and took special care of my son who was having motion sickness. At the same time, they setup all the fishing poles and checked all lure and baits constantly. We were happy to caught a sailfish and another smaller one. We heard some other boats returned empty handed so we were lucky to have caught something.

We had an amazing fishing trip with an incredibly experienced captain and crew. They were fantastic from start to finish, but what really stood out was how patient they were with the kids, especially when the kids were feeling a bit uncomfortable at first. They went above and beyond to make sure the whole family felt safe and welcome. It was a tough day on the water, and we heard some other boats caught absolutely nothing. But our captain didn't give up! He kept trying and changing tactics, and his persistence paid off—we finally hooked and landed a beautiful marlin! If you want a crew that is skilled, family-friendly, and refuses to give up until you catch fish, book with these guys. We will definitely be back!
We had a great time for our first time fishing in Cabo! We had a big Mahi Mahi bite first thing in the morning and come off on the first jump. (Nothing anyone can do about that. Just the way it goes) We landed a giant 56" Wahoo. We aslo had a chance at 2 different marlin but ended up jumping off both of them on the first couple of jumps. Not sure if the hook just came unbuttoned or if it was just due to our inexperience of this type of fishing. All in all the captain and crew were absolutely top notch! Very professional and Knowledgeable! This will be the boat that we fish on every time we have 4 people or less in our group! HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys! - Travis
