If you're ready to discover fishing in Cabo San Lucas, look no further than Cabo Sportfishing Crew. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Ruben knows them forwards and back.
There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Sailfish, Pacific Barracuda, Swordfish, and more with any luck. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Capt. Ruben runs a 31' Uniflite sportfishing boat with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.

We had an amazing fishing trip with an incredibly experienced captain and crew. They were fantastic from start to finish, but what really stood out was how patient they were with the kids, especially when the kids were feeling a bit uncomfortable at first. They went above and beyond to make sure the whole family felt safe and welcome. It was a tough day on the water, and we heard some other boats caught absolutely nothing. But our captain didn't give up! He kept trying and changing tactics, and his persistence paid off—we finally hooked and landed a beautiful marlin! If you want a crew that is skilled, family-friendly, and refuses to give up until you catch fish, book with these guys. We will definitely be back!
We had a great time for our first time fishing in Cabo! We had a big Mahi Mahi bite first thing in the morning and come off on the first jump. (Nothing anyone can do about that. Just the way it goes) We landed a giant 56" Wahoo. We aslo had a chance at 2 different marlin but ended up jumping off both of them on the first couple of jumps. Not sure if the hook just came unbuttoned or if it was just due to our inexperience of this type of fishing. All in all the captain and crew were absolutely top notch! Very professional and Knowledgeable! This will be the boat that we fish on every time we have 4 people or less in our group! HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys! - Travis
Had a great time aboard the Robalo. Was a really slow day for all the Captains but Freddy and Ruben put in the work. Freddy was continuously trying new baits and lures to find what would work. After several hours of only having 1 bite, the reel started screaming! Huge Stripped Marlin! Got it in the boat and totall mad or trip. Approximately 160lbs! Thanks Robalo Crew
We booked this trip with the anticipation of catching something to eat while we were in Cabo. Turns out we now have enough for most of the year. We caught a stripped marlin and a gigantic blue marlin. They told me it was a once in a lifetime catch as it was well over 300 lbs. A little disappointed that we did not get other type of fish like dorado, but that blue marlin kept us busy for at least 3 hours. The captain and his crew were the best. They definitely know what they are doing and made sure we did not lose our catch with a bunch of rookies on the boat. Unfortunately the blue marlin died while we were fighting it, but we put all the meat to good use. The captain and his team were very knowledgeable and good about what to do and not do when we got to the marina with regards to our catch. Because of the size of the catch we attracted a lot of attention and he hooked us up with a great processor that got our fish back home to Texas safely and completely vacuum packed and frozen. We brought home close to 100 lbs. Needless to say everyone, including the captain, were disappointed that we did not decide to mount it. But we got lots of great pictures and the experience was amazing. Super clean boat, great on board meal and snack. We are thinking of booking them again when we go back.
This was our first trip for myself and two friends in Cabo. We were not sure what to expect but hoped for the best. Our experience was way beyond my expectations! The communication with the charter was top notch and they kept us informed with what to bring, where to meet and what tourist traps to avoid. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the captain and led to the Robalo (RO-Bah-Low). Very nice boat. Very clean and loaded with very expensive gear. We knew this was a professional outfit! (You will see a few as you enter that are not run this way). We were told they had caught Marlin the day before but this is fishing and not always as lucky. We hooked the first Marlin about two hours in and what a fight, estimated 130 pounds. My buddy hooked one about an hour later and reeled that one in. Estimated 125 pounds. We started heading back in and really wanted his wife to catch something as she had watched us catch these amazing fish. She hooked the catch of the day and with the help of her husband, brought in an estimated 140 pound Marlin. Three of us and we all caught a fish that will be in our memory forever. Can't say enough good things about this captain, crew and outfit. If you are looking for a courteous, professional and affordable day out fishing in Cabo, book this crew.
