Cabo Sportfishing Crew – Robalo
If you’re ready to discover fishing in Cabo San Lucas, look no further than Cabo Sportfishing Crew. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Ruben knows them forwards and back.
There’s no guarantee when you’re fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Sailfish, Pacific Barracuda, Swordfish, and more with any luck. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Capt. Ruben runs a 31’ Uniflite sportfishing boat with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.

Full Day Trip – All Inclusive
Full day trip on the Robalo out of Cabo
My son and I booked a full-day trip 7/30/2025. Be sure to follow the directions/info they send you the day before the trip so you don’t get scammed by the dudes on the way to the dock. Met Capt. Ruben at the dock and first-mate Freddy on the boat. Both are friendly and knowledgeable. Boat was spotless clean/comfortable and they have high quality equipment on board We trolled the entire time right out of The Arch. Was slow to start, but once we got out the deep water spot where other boats were fishing, got a big blue marlin on for a few seconds but after one jump it spit the hook. Took a while but hooked up again with nice smaller stripped marlin but it also got off. My son was pretty bummed but the Capt. and Freddie kept at it. No more bites until we started heading back in and got a smaller bull shark on the live bait line. 20ft from the boat it broke off also. We’ve been out with many guides on both fresh and salt water trips, but it was not our day to get that classic, back of the boat marlin pic my son wanted so bad, but overall a great day on the water and good experience with Capt. Ruben and Freddie. I’d definitely recommend this crew if you’re looking for a trip out of Cabo.

Full Day Trip – All Inclusive
Great inshore action.
Alex and Rubin make the trip a great experience. Mate Alex is english speaking, so easy for us not able to speak spanish, and gives clear instructions how to catch the fish after showing you how. Boat is spotless and tackle is top notch. These guys take real pride in their livelihood. Very open about what is biting as my buddy wanted to catch a marlin but we were there in March and marlin are a Sept-December species. They kept the rods bent with Rooster fish and skipjacks making it a great day. Only drawback of the boat is a small livewell that holds the included bait just fine but not worth adding additional baits at $4 each as they get overcrowded.

Fantastic Charter, Captain and Mate
Ruben and Freddy were very knowledgeable and experienced Captain and Mate. They worked together to make this charter one that we won't forget. We caught a large Blue Marlin that really put me through a test of strength and angling ability. My wife also caught a very nice Striped Marlin. Both were revived and released. The Captain and Mate did a fantastic job helping us to have an experience of a lifetime!!!

Marlin and Mahi-Mahi
We went for the 8 hour tour we went out and had an Amberjack jump at our bait right away. Then we landed a Mahi-Mahi. Andreas was a wonderful first mate. We got on several striped marlin. Finally landed one! We got a nice bite from a Whaoo. We saw a hammerhead shark and several Marlin on the top water. Overall, this trip was a 10/10. Ruben the captain was phenomenal and had us on fish all day. I couldn’t have asked for a better Cabo fishing trip. Thanks guys!!!

Full Day Trip – All Inclusive
What a fun day!
It was a slow day of fishing, but they worked hard to make sure we eventually had a bite! My son and I were able to reel in a couple beautiful Rooster fish and a seal ate our Bonita. It was a wonderful day on the sea with fish, whales, and pictures galore! They did an amazing job making my son (9) feel like a real big time fisherman! When we come back I will definitely be booking with them again!! Thanks for a day we’ll never forget!
