Alan is extremely knowledgeable captain. Reads conditions that put us on fish the whole 3 days. 35 inch snooks - ✔, monster Reds ✔, mangrove snapper that could feed a family of 20 ✔ hooked us up for the Grand Slam ✔ killer boat ✔ great rigging and tackle ✔ bottom line is if you are lucky to book him do it.

Down for the week as our son goes through captain school so we booked a trip with Spangler adventures. Booking was easy, communication was prompt and complete and They were very accommodating as we booked an 8 hour trip and realized if we left at 8am we wouldn’t be back in enough time for our son to get to class in time so they accommodated us and met us at the dock at 6:30. Captain Chris was great. The bait shop didn’t open when they were supposed to so we got started a few minutes late but Captain Chris added time to the end of the trip. He didn’t let that effect our time at all fishing. .Everything about the trip was fun for the kids, young and old 😉. Chris called the night before to find out our expectations and he met them to the T.  He even went the extra mile to teach us different knots and gave our son great info and suggestions for when he starts chartering.
He had us back to the dock in time and promptly cleaned our fish for us. He even let the kids have a little fun at the dock feeding the tarpon with the fish remains..
All in all it was a perfect day out in the water with Spangler adventures!

We had a blast Chris put us on some good spots the wind wasn’t cooperating very well but he did an amazing job even with a minor equipment problem he had which wasn’t his fault or from it being bad just a minor problem and he worked around it like an absolute professional I’ve been on a few charters and the captains have been mediocre captain Chris was beyond the best I’ve ever been around personality wise and doing his job we all say how it must be nice to be a guide I know it’s not easy I have a boat and I’ve done it with my family for years on a few lakes it’s not easy and can be frustrating at times Chris thanks for the memories and the opportunity to go with you it truly was an honor being on your board today and putting us on fish even the ones that got away

We had two great days with Captain Alan during our Red Sox Spring Training trip in March 2022.  One day was all about redfish and sea trout and the next day was all about the snook - over 50 of them in the boat that day! - along with a couple of fun amberjacks, and it all ended with my very first tarpon.  What a thrill!  We have been doing trips with Captain Alan for the past several years and he has been - by FAR - the best captain/guide we have ever had.  If you’re thinking about booking a fishing trip in the Fort Meyers area, don’t hesitate to do it with Captain Alan Spangler…he’s THE BEST!!!

Its one thing to know where the fish are, it’s another to know and read your customers - Caotain Alan was amazing at both! We chose this as one of our family adventures this vacation,  and we were not disappointed. Captain Alan was amazing with our the kiddos (ranging in age from 13 to 6). He was beyond patient, and kept us on the fish so the kids could have a great time.  We couldn’t even get one live baited and back in and we had two more lines already hitting!
I cannot rave about him enough - and the kids already said as they get bigger they would love to come back and try more styles with Captain Alan!
