We had an awesome time with Luis and he is an awesome guide and an amazing person. He messaged me and let me know that we would be starting at 2pm and I forgot and showed up a little before 1. Luis was extremely accommodating and cut his lunch short just to get us on the water so we weren’t sitting around. Even after telling him that I apologized, he was still willing to rush over and get us going. MAKE SURE TO READ HIS TEXTS, lol. He doesn’t always go off the booking time but he will make sure that you get your time fishing!! Luis was amazing and constantly moved us around looking for fish. We saw tons of Tarpon and had many bites but getting a fish to stay on was tricky. Thanks to Luis’s dedication we were able to get on an awesome Snook and Luis helped my 12 year old land him all on his own.

This was our first trip to Puerto rica and our first guide hired on fishbooker but it definitely won’t be our last!! Thanks again Luis!

How do describe an epic deep jigging fishing adventure? Epic works. Amazing? Perfect? Hard to find a good word.

Captain Luis called us the night before. Inshore fishing had been slow though that’s what we had signed up to do, especially for Tarpon. He offered us deep jigging for Tuna and larger fish. We were hesitant at first. Both myself and my buddy are very experienced anglers and were concerned it might be boring. We’d done enough deep wreck fishing and were not looking for that. Captain Luis assured us it wasn’t that and that it would be fun. We trusted the captain and he was right.

Almost immediately he got us on the fish on a ledge ~400-250’. He showed us the unique technique they use for deep jigging, which was different that what we’d done in the past.

After about 10-15 minutes, we had our first Bonito on the board. Then another….then another. They are fun but small…Captain kept resetting and setting, trying to find that perfect spot….and he did.

Then we hooked up a massive yellowfin Tuna. Keeping in mind we are on relatively light tackle, no more than ~20lb rods, it darn near pulled the rod out of my hand. Capt. Luis coached me through the fight. When the fish was almost at the boat, it was eaten by a ~200+ lb shark, which I then fought to the boat before it broke off. Epic fight x2. If the trip had ended there, it would have been amazing… but there was much more in store for us.

After that, we hooked up a huge blackfin tuna which we landed after a good 10 min fight, then 2 more black fins, a bunch more bonito. Then on our final drift, we got a double hookup of King Mackerel. A double fight to end the day

After 4+ hours, our arms were burned out, hips bruised from big fights, and our smiles large. We’ve fished all over the world from deep sea to tiny trout streams, for sailfish, marlin, bone fish, tarpon, etc. with dozens or more captains. This trip is in the top 10 easily and Capt Luis is in the top 5 charter captains we’ve fished with.

At the end, he even coordinated with the Chef at the restaurant next to the marina to cook up the Blackfin for lunch.

Clearly, we HIGHLY recommend. His boat is great and well equipped.

This fishing trip was a first for me and my family during our summer vacation in PR. My 15 year old grandson loves to fish and was hoping to catch something bigger than what he catches at home in fresh water. Capt. Luis did not disappoint! Capt. Luis took us out to several different spots in the lagoon to try our luck!  We had a few good bites and one great catch, an average size Tarpin! Capt. Luis made sure to have my grandson reel it in!! This made the vacation!  Capt Luis is extremely friendly and knowledgeable!  The boat was well kept and he had waters and Gatorades as advertised. I would definitely recommend booking a fishing trip with Capt. Luis - we did 4 hours which was perfect for us, next time I’d consider longer if leaving the 8 year old home! lol

Capt Luke was fantastic, I would recommend everyone to book him up. My wife and I aren’t novices to fishing but we are to Tarpon fishing. He was amazing with us and put us on some great strikes. We were even able to land a few of them. My wife caught the largest at about 50lbs. She still hasn’t stopped smiling.
