Wouldn’t know. All we did was hold on to what we could grab for dear life. The absolute WORSE " FISHING TRIP" I have ever been on. This"captain" should have checked the weather the day before and the morning of this trip. He should have NEVER Taken us out in this very rough water. There was absolutely NO way we could have fished in this weather. He put all of our lives in DANGER because he didn't want to lose his money for this trip. In the end, we were kept out in these terrible conditions just so he wouldn't give us a refund. Yes, he did refund us $37.50 US Dollars each(which in itself is a JOKE). HE WASTED OUR MONEY FOR NOTHING. IT WAS NOT A FUN EXPERIENCE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS CLOWN!!! Any respectable Captain would have NEVER went out in these conditions. We found out after we got back to Riu that ALL other boats CANCELED their trips that day because of the WEATHER. This guy put all of our lives at risk for MONEY. DO NOT USE THIS GUY. I can't say that enough. We realize this is your lively hood but it's not worth risking other people lives and your own life for a few hundred dollars.

You cannot beat experience and local knowledge and this is exactly what you get with Steven, Kevin & Shane, the "Just Hook It Crew" — which is exactly what they do and exactly what we wanted. We would all definitely recommend this experience!

A taxi will run you about $100 American for a 30 minute drive there and back , and allot extra time for traffic
And be kind to your driver we were late coming back to the dock and he waited for us we were very grateful
Some resorts won’t cook the fish you catch for health reasons so ask the front desk before you bring you fish back to the resort or the restaurant at the yacht club will cook it for you

Shawn Kauffman
It’s fishing; the crew can only do there best which was the case on ‘Just Hook it’ I’m not sure December poses the same opportunity as August & September but was great getting out on the water

This is not sitting with a pole in your hand relaxing until something bites so be prepared for that! There are 4-6 lines rigged and the captain will work to look for indicators of where the fish are so when they start biting - you start reeling!

Find different charter captain was on cell phone most of trip Was full day trip supposed to go way off shore but per above not sure if we did. I understand catching is not assured but feel I might have had better chance to do so than I did

It is what the locals call lent in February. The fish are focused on mating and not eating. That being said we did see a very large blue marlin hit our lines. In Feb don't expect much more. Would definitely do 1 day again at a chance at the marlin we had hit which was over 9ft long

Dave Mcginness
It seems like a place that is hit or miss. We had some rough weather, but I’m not sure how abundant the fish are in this area.

Todd Jackson
Do your research for the best guide possible that can really put you on the fish. Not just troll around them

Damon Logan
The seas are fairly big in February our group had no problems but if you don’t have your legs I suggest taking something for it

Remember the captain can't force the fish to bite. Go in with an open mind, enjoy the experience and if you catch a fish great!!

Scott Kendig
Post-storm rough seas. We booked 2 boats and both turned back a little early due to pretty good seasickness from fishers in each boat.

Chris Covington
Very average. No mahi bites. Caught 3 tuna under 20 pounds, but then left the active bait area and never caught another. Be ready for the sun, smell of diesel fuel, and bring your own food.

Roger Sager
Off season for most fish, however we were on fish and were successful.
Looking forward to a full day for marlin someday.
Always pay attention to what is in season.

the tranquility of the view, along with the hospitality of the crew made this an excellent way to celebrate a birthday!

We were told that because of the heat, the afternoons are better for catching fish when you get a little wind. We intend to go back before we leave and will book an afternoon trip.

It’s fishing. I’d you’ve been offshore fishing, it’s basically that. It’s the beauty of the surrounding landscape that gives it my recommendation.

Kyle Moreau
I think planning a trip around fishing is better than planning a trip and adding fishing on.

Bridgit Fischer
Make sure you pay close attention to the weather. Windy January days can be rough on the water.

This is the best excursion in Montego Bay, Jamaica! Great for adults and families.

Not unless there is a guarantee catch policy with a discount gave back if there was no catch

You are always search for schools of fish and following birds not a lot of structure holding fish..
