What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Zavalla, Texas for the first time?

Zavalla - should say Sam Rayburn - but it is close enough. And I do recommend Sam Rayburn. This is a lake made for Texas and Large Mouth Bass.

For the time of year, we caught several fish. The captain was very knowledgeable of the lake and explained what we could expect.

Bring a cooler packed with refreshments, snack/food, and sunscreen. Captain Cates provides everything else you might need.

Get a map - watch some videos, and enjoy. The lake is outstanding and very easy to navigate even thought it is very large. Highly recommend a trip down there - We will be back.
