If you're fishing in Buenos Aires for the first time, I highly recommend going with a knowledgeable local charter to make the most of your experience. The waters here offer a great variety of species, from golden dorado to surubí and tarariras, depending on the season.
Make sure to ask your captain about the best techniques and bait for the target fish—live bait and lures can make a big difference. Also, be prepared for changing weather conditions and bring sun protection, as the sun can be intense.
Most importantly, enjoy the adventure! Buenos Aires has some incredible fishing spots, and with the right guidance, you're in for an unforgettable experience.

This is according to fishing history is not prime Golden Trout time. But I found out that the smaller trout fight all the way to the boat like small bass. I would say that anglers arriving at November time will have fun catching fish.

I think it’s a little unusual to catch dorados in rio de la plata in this time of the year but we reached out to the captain in advance to ask if they had been catching them and he said yes. We caught a lot of dorados and catfish

I've only fished the Delta in Feb, so I don't have another time of year to compare. Definitely book a "full day" trip. It takes about an hour to get out to the area where we were first fishing as the tide was working in the marshier areas. If you have women in your group, make sure the boat has a toilet (Delta Aventura's does). Bring and apply a lot of sunscreen and bring mosquito repellant (a relatively new nusiance). Tell the captain your level of experience and how much assistance you'd like hooking the catch. Golden Dorado don't just "hit the bait" and run, it takes patience and certain timing once they're on the bait. Dorado LOVE eels... ask for eels.

Wear layers. It was very cold when the boat was moving, but very pleasant in the sun when we were actively fishing.

Do your homework with a variety of outfits and get lots of pictures of the boat, and RECENT fish trip results.

It can be cold in BA in June, we got lucky with the weather the week we were here.
