On Aug 1, 2024 my group of 4 had a booking with Lawrence Coyle out of Indian River Marina, Rehoboth Beach, De. On the walk down the pier the vessel “Makai" was a very impressive to see. The mate was aboard prepairing the boat for our anticipated fishing trip. The mate greeted us and was very impressive. A short time later, we saw another person approach the boat. We didn't know who he was because he never introduced himself. He spoke to the mate so we assumed he was our Captain. He asked us to pass him our lunch coolers and bags and then asked us to step aboard. Once aboard, the mate untied the lines and we were off. There were literally no words spoken to us from the time of boarding, to the 30 minutes it took him to arrive at his fishing grounds. The Captain was very rude, he never said “good morning”or "welcome aboard". He did not introduce himself nor the mate to us. In addition, we were never instructed where the life jackets were stored, nor where the head was located. As we started to fish, he did speak but never looked you in the eye. As members of a Black Sport Fishing Club, we have been fishing in shore and off shore for the past 40 years. I am in the IGFA World Record Books for 3rd in the World Record Catch for Blue Marlin. The Captain should never “judge a book by its cover”. I don't want to see another person pay $900.00 and get treated with such disrespect as we were treated. Thank you,

Morning was cooler and hot hotter during the day. I would recommend the 6 hours or full day. We were hitting bigger fish around 11am. Could have been the storm from the night before but fishing is good in these waters. Others coming in had good luck as well. 90 feet was a good depth.

Yes, the location is easy to get to. There is ample parking, a restaurant (not open in the winter), and other amenities.

If you're not used to fishing in the ocean, bring dramamine to be on the safe side.
