Since the water is getting very hot in August most of the catch would be in earlier morning hours. Gulf fish will get lazy towards 11am - noon and not bite as much this time of the year. Therefore you are better off with a 4 hour trip and leaving as early as possible.

For 2024, March was a good month. our late April trip was not good at all. Expect lots of grass so weedless techniques is a must. Use fluke in the shallows and texas rig and carolina rig in the deep. Need proper electronics to find structure in the deep where large size bass gather. We fished a week in lake Tarpoon, only 2lb and less in shallow waters and cannels.

Bring food, drink, and sun lotion and let Captain Robby show you another great day on the water. Whatever the conditions Captain Robby will make it a great fun day of boating and fishing. We highly recommend.

I haven’t fished in FL much but come to find out that when it’s cold here the fish get sluggish and not interested in eating much. Now we know but Robert got us on the fish regardless and we had a great spotted sea trout dinner.

Polaroid sunglasses, water proof bag to store all you carry on board, rod belt to make reeling in easier, sun screen (remember to reapply to face, ears, neck and hands, camera, long sleeve light colored shirt, cap with rap-around-bill, protein bars, oranges, pee can. There's more but these are the items that I remembered to bring and some I wish I had remembered to bring

Be patient because the weather is changing, make sure that you use a reputable guide that knows how to locate fish and can read the conditions.

Get with your Captain to see when he would suggest going out. Considering the tides and time of day.

Its hot! The fish were not wanting to bite for us. Fishing is very dependant on the tide. The scenery all around is beautiful.

Communicate w/ you Capt about the tides & weather if you’re serious about fishing! So much activities in this fishing town.
Laura Pirtle
Absolutely! The captain was fantastic teaching us what to do, how to cast, and how to reel in. Anyone who wants to do something fun out on the water should try it.
ROBERT KICAK
Capt. Recommend a different lake as the conditions and bite was better at another lake other than lake tarpon and it paid off as we caught quality fish.

Listen to Cpt. Brent. He’s extremely knowledgeable and will put you on the fish as long as you do what he says.

Lots of water and sunscreen in the captain. I’ll take care of the rest. Captain John was great.
