What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Chalong for the first time?

Great trip! We booked for one days and caught a lot of tuna through trolling. We also had a good haul of grouper with bottom fishing, and jigging yielded some excellent catches as well. I'd like to particularly highlight that the top anglers were two 12-year-olds.

Beer is not included and due to Thai law is restricted to sale during specific times. If you want to drink beer on the boat, bring it yourself. The food is great and we were never hungry, but if you are particularly prone to snacking, consider bringing some along. Overall, definitely keep funthaisea on your list. The experience was genuinely incredible.

Just do your homework go down the day before and talk to Some boat owners and captains meet the crews. Make sure everyone is fluent into the language that you speak or additional language if you speak one. Also asked him about the options for different types of fishing if one particular style is not working out. Say you troll for four hours and don’t catch anything. Would you then be able to go reef fishing?

This was our first experience fishing in Chalong on a private booking for 3 best friends (although I had previously booked myself on several join-in trips), and there is no comparison! Expect more personal attention from the crew and more opportunity to catch fish on the private bookings, rather than sitting around waiting for your turn to take a pull whenever that rare "Fish on!" call is heard. Highly recommended for more serious anglers in a small fishing party, as well as for the first-timers!

You need to check the boat and crew match the reviews. We were disappointed. The crew had a great time fishing with all the best gear. We paid for a great day out for them. Not us.

Do not have high expectations when you book this trip. Bring sunblock, hat, long sleeves and sunglasses with you. Bring your own beer (water and soda is provided).

Make sure you know exactly what reel models you will be fishing with. Ask for pictures to see if the reels are full of line.

It's a hit or miss so don't expect to catch every time you go fishing here. I fished back to back two trips and the first one was a bust. The second one was very successful.

It’s a hit or miss. If the weather is fishable you’ll catch. Conditions are hard to predict and change all the time.

Just don't set your expectations too high but we had a blast and caught over 30 fish all together. Just nothing big.

Would recommend fishing earlier in the year January,February and March according to the crew is the best time

Try to get face to face contact with charter co to fully explain trip, boats etc .

Bring SUN SCREEN. and Most importantly Good Vibes. Its not every day you get to fish in Phuket.
