Scallop season is in full swing and there are a few out there to find. The weather has been a bit hit or miss whoever we have been able to adjust schedules to accommodate most trips . The season ends September 24 so be sure to book your trip soon . See ya all on the water

Most people are out on the scallop ground getting what they can . I have been splitting trips and targets near by rocks for an hour or 2 after scalloping . I like to target grunts and mangroves this time of year especially when I have younger ones fishing on the trip . The bite stays steady and the fish box typically gets loaded up with some great table fair . Hope ya all enjoyed the July 4th celebrations. I have some scattered openings thru out the month so check them out . The gulf temperatures have risen to about 86 degrees. This turns the trout bite to slow down a pinch ( unless you know were to get em) we have been focusing on the mangrove snapper and large grunt bite with the occasional seabass mixed in . These fish always create a busy bite and pull on the rod very hard. I typically earn my pay running around the boat unhooking fish and baiting hooks,this is fun and chaotic at the same time. The Tide is swinging around for a nice incoming tide in the moring and this is getting the redfish fish on the bite . Hang onto the rod real tide there going to try to pull it out of your hands :)

As January rolls along we have been enjoying some very favorable temperatures. The very strong pompano have showed up and are ready for the battle . The trout are Hungry and are feeding . The water here on the nature coast has cooled off a pinch therefor the dinner bell has started to ring . This is signal its time to come in and fatten up for the winter ahead. The trout are showing up in large numbers and are redfish still schooled up and feeding . We are also seeing a few cobia on our flats . Scalloping season has slowed down to a simmer. However the Redfish bite continues to strengthen . They are schooling up and are on the bite . I would say the bite will stay strong into September . September is when we will also see the trout begin to return from offshore. We of course are catching a few still along with our redfish . This time of year the near shore rocks are full of excitement. With every drop of a shrimp there is a pull on the line. Generally catching mangrove snapper and grunts. Btw I consider some of the best table fare out there.
