The bite is good . We have been working between these cold fronts and tide conditions. The usual suspects are moving a bit more to the inside. We are also starting to pick up a few sheepshead and black drum in the river. Christmas week is starting to book up' so don't lose your opportunity to experience our nature coast. Capt. Our trout bite has been steady were seeing a few s with the latest cold fronts. Whowever were still getting the job done . We have also had a somewhat steady redfish bite on the incoming tide . We have had mostly outgoing tide to work with the last 2 weeks . There are still plenty if fish to catch even with the cooling waters

The bite has been very good as it is typically this time of year . Most all of our local businesses are back up and running and there are still plenty of rental homes and hotels available. There are still some debris in the water and alot of channel markers missing or out of place so make sure you hire a well experienced captain to have safe and pleasurable trip.

We have a very limited grouper season this year it starts sept 1 and ends on the 15th. Gags can be alot of fun to catch . We call inshore fishing for them in a shallow water "combat fishing". They will violently hit a plug and pull it into a rock in seconds. I have witnessed many good anglers be surprised at there strike. I am available for a few of these dates for seasoned anglers only please.

The redfish bite is improving every day since Hurricane Debbie has passed the water clarity is also improving. The made headsprings still remain dark from the enormous amount of rain we received. Scalloping is very slow , the limited stock that we had has been depleted . As a member of the Homosassa guides association we have had many meeting regarding the depleting numbers in the last few years. With help from fwc and uf researchers we are hoping to see some changes made for next season . Ok enough on that. We are still catching alot of grunts and mangrove snapper providing great opportunities for even a novice angler to catch there dinner. Our fall schedule will start filling fast so to get the best dates book soon . Weekdays are typically better to book your trip they are generally a better time to experience our nature coast with alot less going on than the weekends. Let's go catching Capt David

Now is the time to catch your your redfish the bite is great . Redfish are some of the best fighting fish out there pound for pound. The storm has past for a few weeks now and there is still alot of debris floating around out ther so be sure to book a good local guide that understands what to look for in the water and safely navigate it.This is also the time of year were our seatrout will begin to return and the bite will get better as the water cools down . Right now we are catching nice redfish and there are still plenty of large mangrove snapper and grunts near shore ( BTW the best eating fish out there).
