Some big tuna have finally shown up in the 15-20lb range and the action on the reef is still great as well. Nice king mackerel and bonitas while trolling in shallow early in the morning and the tuna are a bit deeper. Still a random African pompano here and there and the muttons eat some days and other they are harder to get.

The king mackerel bite jas been outstanding woth easy limits hitting the deck most trips and the bottom fishing for snapper and grouper is licking back up again. Grouper season begins may 1st!

This past week has been great on king mackerel, some bonitas, and while the bottom fishing was slow we did get some nice fish as well.

The trolling has been good both morning and afternoon for tuna and bonita and the bottom fishing this week was great with good current and plenty of mutton snapper and African Pompano around. Not all were keepers but action was good and a few made the cooler.

We started out our trip trolling for over an hour and didn't get a single bite so plan b is always live bait fishing. Two minutes after getting the bait spread out we were hooked up on our first sailfish. After landing that fish we started again in the same depth and about. 30min later another one hit and we were running down our second sailfish of the day! With north wind and decent current those fish get turned on and the bait was all over the reef. We also got a keeper mutton snapper and a bonita in between the two sails to round out another great day of fishing.

For the past two weeks the sailfish bite has been hot and you never know when you will hook up on one. Today we got into some big bomber bonitas trolling, some snapper while bottom fishing, and the last thing we did was live bait fish the reef near the inlet and a big sailfish ate a live bait on the surface. After getting a quick picture we revived and released the fish.
