We tried to get around the pig Red snapper to get to the Red Grouper and they just wouldn't have it. These guys did a great job of pulling them in. This kid is going places! He never got tired and wore out the biggest that came in the boat. As of June 1st, red snapper is going in the box and on the menu!

You're looking at the ones who reeled em in! These kids wore em out! I was impressed. They were hungry for some meat trucks and they got it! Great job getting these in the boat and on the table! Can't wait to see this group next year!

This was a 4 hour PM trip. We got out there quick on smooth waters and got baits in the water 45 min in. Hook after hook went down and came back up empty until I realized how fast we were getting picked. I told em "the second that line stops, close the bell and pull up." Sure enough, first try and a big one was on. Unfortunately, the fight ended in heartbreak when it popped the line. As I was tying a rig back on, another line got grabbed and another big fight was on. Conny fought hard to pull this beast up and only needed a little bit of hand lining toward the end. It was a big 24" Red Grouper and once he was on the deck I realized he brought our tackle back to us. Conny didn't let her nephew hear the end of that one. Something along the lines of, "you hook em and I'll catch em for ya". We took some pics, got both our hooks out and released him. We'll be back when season comes back around. We hit a couple more spots and brought in size Scamp Grouper and big Spanish Mackerel. It was a good day to go out.

This was a great bunch of guys that wanted a long time on the water. We started off on some natural bottom, looking for trigger and caught loads of them. We kept one size 19" and moved over to some hard bottoms where we lit into some mangroves, red snapper, and gag. After the mangroves calmed down and the trigger weren't getting any bigger, we moved out to deeper water. We jumped around on beeliners and triggers until they were wore out and trolled for kings and wahoo in between. On the way back, I got a request for an AJ, so we took a little extra time stopping on a couple wrecks where we did find some AJs. Unfortunately, they were undersize, but they they got their pictures, plenty of fish for dinner, and hopefully a good time. I look forward to seeing these guys again!

It was red skies in the morning. Thankfully Jimmy and his crew didn't mind an evening trip and we sprinted out and caught 3 limits. These Texans were true fishermen, battling 3' and 4' waves to snatch up their limits on Red Snapper. I was glad to have them and we had a good time.
