Steven arranged a Lake Erie Walleye Charter experience for his son's 13th birthday. We had an awesome morning on the water. We had to be back to the dock early for them to hit the road. I had to reschedule due to yesterday's blow. We had the Off Shore Tackle Company boards going back as soon as the 3rd rod was is, we took a quick 3 and then a lull. We worked a mile long stretch between the islands. Speed was 1.8 mph leads were scattered but 80 to100 seemed the best. We were all reelers today. Sutton had plan oh so close FO. Tom and Kent were back for day 2 with their Off Shore Tackle Company planner board hands on training. We had to delay for most of the day due to high winds. We left West Harbor and fished West of KI. Today we added Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s into to the mix with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons. 30 and 40 back on the TruTrips. Bandits were active in settings from 30 to 115. Bill reached out wanting a Walleye charter for 3 with a chance for Smallmouth. We started the day casting but we weren't getting the results we had hoped for. Mike and his Wife Susan were in the area to fish for cats in the bay but wanted a little Lake Erie time for Walleye. This was a drift and troll day utilizing the islands as wind protection. We cast for a while, but we're only able to catch one and two year olds. Since a Walleye dinner was in the plans, we brought out the BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons and went to work. Larry had a Christmas present for his grandson Teddy who had never been on Lake Erie. This was a short late afternoon Yellow Perch trip. To help them with the light Perch bites we sought sheltered water ward if seasick. The plan worked, we used both Vodka emerld shinners and live Goldies from Jeanett's Bait & tackle. The live golden shiners outperformed Emeralds yesterday.
