We started the day at 7am looking for greenies both to the south and north of St. Lucie Inlet. Look for the Pelicans diving or just sitting on the water, they are a tell tail sign that the bait is there or nearby. Key to catching is using a large cast net, I personally have an 11 foot Black Pearl net 3/8 mesh with 1.5 lbs of weight per foot; or the alternative is to use a Sabiki Rigs, it will take you a littler longer to catch them, but it does work. I threw the net 4 times and loaded both live wells with about 150 greenies, a good start... We then headed south of the St. Lucie Inlet and began casting the live greenies into the surf, the water was clear and calm so make sure you stay far enough away from the beach so that you do not spook them. We ended the day catching and releasing 14 snook averaging 20 to 28 inches. My guest was a gentlemen from Michigan, this was his first time fishing in the ocean and his first snook, he had a blast.
