Water temps are up, the fish are hungry. This is my favorite time of the year for fishing. The fish are hitting pretty much any bait presented. Live, frozen, cut and artificial have been working.the only problem has been getting by the undersize fish to get the slot fish hooked!

Finally got my bout out of the shop, had it dressed up a bit! Had a strong front come through last night so this morning I fished a fairly strong Nor easter. Usually not the best fishing but today was good. 26 inch red and a couple under slot plus a 17 inch trout. All caught on artificial baits.

This morning was rainy, but not a bad wind. Tide was falling hard but for some reason the bite was on! I was just scouting, fishing alone with artificial baits. Got an 18 in red pretty quick and then had another good hit but did not get him in the boat. Fished on a few minutes and then hooked a bull, the fight was on! Got him netted and he was 31 inches. I then had another one on shortly and he was 20 inches and he decided to go home with me for dinner. The clouds cleared and the wind came out of the south. Caught a couple mullet with my cast net and then called it a day.

My new friend Josh made it happen today! The red fish bite was on. He caught several rat reds, got a 26 and half that accepted his invitation to dinner! Had another 21-23 in red that went back in to fight another day. East wind on a falling tide, but the tide was higher than it has been in a few days.

My crew fished hard today in a very hard east wind and a low winter tide. It finally paid off at the end of the trip. We fished live bait all day in several different areas, shallow flats, and ledges. Walter and Whitney got hooked up with this redfish and he gave a good fight. We only had 2-3 other good strong bites.

My crew got it done today. Got this Bull, 38 inches in the boat. Rhonda has an injury and could not chase him around the boat! We managed to keep the fight on the port side. After a pretty long fight Ryan, David and myself got him in the boat and got his picture. We hooked up again but the hook pulled out. All in all was a good day in the rain!
