A great start to the late June Chinook fishery in Florencia Bay and Food Islets this week. The Chinook Salmon are drawn to the shallow bays, teeming with squid this time of year. The fishery is shallow and very entertaining. Pound for pound, the squid feeding chinook are the hardest fighting fish of the year. There's nothing quite like catching a big salmon in 20-50 feet of water. The last three days have been an absolute hoot for our multi day crews and a couple afternoon family groups. The lingcod fishery is holding up nicely and continues to produce great numbers. Anglers are allowed 3 lingcod each right now. These white meat hunters stocked the freezer with 110lbs of ling fillets yesterday. Good show Fellas. Book a trip this week to get in on the action!
