Fresh Catch and Cruise NC Fishing Reports
Weekend Recap & What’s Biting!
July 13, 2025
Catch and Cruise NC: Fishing Report We had some incredible trips this week, with both offshore and nearshore adventures bringing in a bounty of fish! Offshore in the Gulf Stream: We landed an impressive 50-pound wahoo and maxed out on blackfin and silky snapper, hitting our limit of 20 fish with just two of us on board. If we’d had more anglers, we could have easily doubled or tripled that number! We also brought in a few amberjack over 100 pounds—one was even partially taken by a shark, and it still weighed in at over 100 pounds! Add in a beautiful scamp grouper and a 25-pound king, and we had an offshore trip to remember. Nearshore Adventures: Earlier in the week, we stayed closer to shore and still found plenty of action. We had lots of shark encounters, some solid black sea bass, and even managed to reel in a 28-inch gag grouper just a few miles off the beach—a rare treat for North Carolina waters! Spanish mackerel are still around, though a bit more scattered, so it’s all about finding the right spot and sticking with it. Ready to Get Out There? The Gulf Stream is always productive, and flexibility is key. If you’re looking to book an offshore trip, reach out, and we’ll keep an eye on the weather to find the perfect window for your adventure!

Fishing Report – Nearshore and Inshore A
July 8, 2025
Despite some rough conditions offshore due to a tropical storm, the nearshore and inshore bite has been fantastic. Anglers have been landing plenty of redfish and black drum around the docks and bridges, especially when timing the tides just right at the inlets. The Carolina Beach Inlet has been a hotspot for big sharks, and the mullet run is in full swing, making it a prime time for some exciting catches. The Spanish mackerel are still around, though a bit more scattered than earlier in the season, but if you find them, they’re definitely there! If you can make it out to the tower, you’ll find a ton of African pompano and some really big cobia, mixed in with more amberjack than you could dream of catching. This weekend also marks a special two-day red snapper season, but you’ll need a bigger boat—think a sportfish or something 35 feet or larger—to make it offshore. For those looking to book an offshore adventure, Monday, July 14th, is looking perfect for a trip. Let’s get after them—book your trip with us today!

Perfect offshore weather this weekend Ju
June 26, 2025
If you’re looking to get offshore, we don’t get many weather windows like the one coming up this weekend. The offshore bite has been on fire lately — with mahi showing up as close as 20 miles out, and bottom fishing in the Gulf Stream producing big grouper, amberjack, and a variety of snapper. There’s also been plenty of African pompano and cobia near Frying Pan Tower. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to book, this is it. Let’s get out there and fill the coolers.

Fishing report 6/24/2025 action from bea
June 24, 2025
Fishing Report: This past week has been full of action and variety! Closer to shore, we’ve seen thicker schools of mullet moving in, and the nearshore wrecks have been producing plenty of sharks, smaller black sea bass, and other cool species with lots of barracuda hanging around. Spanish mackerel are still hanging around near the beach and are getting bigger, and we even caught a nice kingfish nearshore! Further out, about 20 to 30 miles off the beach, the mahi bite has been strong. If you head out to the Frying Pan Tower, you’ll find big cobia, African pompano, and amberjacks. And if you venture all the way out to the Gulf Stream, you can expect some big grouper. Just a reminder, gag grouper season closes on June 26th, but you can still target scamp grouper until the end of the year. Plus, red snapper season is coming up, and we have availability on the 13th if you’re eager to get out there! Wahoo are also still running in the Stream, and with conditions really improving, it’s the perfect time to get out on the water and enjoy some fantastic fishing!

Fishing report 6/18/25
June 18, 2025
In our latest fishing update, we’re thrilled to share that the mullet have started moving in, with a mix of smaller schools and some larger groups in the six to eight-inch range. On the nearshore wrecks, we’ve had some exciting catches, including sharks, stingrays, flounder, and black sea bass, among other species. The inshore and nearshore red drum bite has been absolutely on fire, and if you hit the right spots at the perfect tide, you’re pretty much guaranteed a great catch. While the Spanish mackerel bite is out there, it’s not quite as strong as in previous years for this time in June. Offshore, we’re seeing mahi in the 40 to 50 mile range, and wahoo are also making an appearance.
