Time for Sea Bass, and striper aren't fa
October 13, 2019
It looks like the Nor'easter is finally pulling out. I'll be ready to start fishing again Monday, October 14th. Sea bass are back in season, and some nice ones are available. Stripers are on their way. but still will not get here for a few weeks. Pictured is a 51.5 incher caught at wreck inlet in October of 2004.
Mahi-Mahi, Sea Bass, and large Red Hake
July 27, 2019
We fished with the Kotouch's Saturday and Sunday. Royce, Chris, Steve, and Ryan did really well Saturday, and okay Sunday. Saturdays was a 10 hour offshore trip, and they could have filled the boat with ling (red hake). They kept 32 along with 3 nice sea bass, and 5 Mahi-Mahi. Today was a 6 hr near shore shark trip, and Ryan caught a small black tip shark. We then came back into the bay after drifting for about 3 miles along the 30 foot line and catching no fluke. But, we had several small fluke along with small sea bass in the bay along with Ryan's fluke at 19". In the offshore we were throwing Riptide B&T bunker chunks for the mahi-mahi, and the bunker chum drew-in the black tip.
Great sea bass catching
May 18, 2019
We had the Nagele group out today catching sea bass. They caught their 6 man limit of sea bass with the largest going 19". We caught about 200 total fish including tautog (released), Spiny dogfish (released), and smooth dog fish (released). It was a beautiful day on the ocean. We anchored using the trolling motor over five wrecks in 68' to 95'. Now is the time to book your next sea bass trip.
August Wreck Fishing
August 4, 2018
We had a great wreck fishing trip today. Caught over 30 sea bass, 6 fluke, and a dozen sea robin. Riptide B&T cut bait from squid tubes worked great. Pictured are Jack with a 18" sea bass, and Nathan with a 21" fluke. The deeper wrecks produced better than the inshore wrecks.
Wreck Fishing off Brigantine, NJ
July 2, 2018
We had a good wreck fishing trip today with the Haddix's. Picture is a 22.5 inch fluke, and 16 and 17 inch sea bass. We were fishing in 65 to 90 feet of water off Brigantine. Minnows and Riptide B&T squid tube baits were the best.
Father's Day weekend 2018
June 17, 2018
What a great weekend Father's Day weekend was. Calm ocean, sunny, perfect temperatures, no bugs, and we caught fish. On Saturday's trip we had the Manahan father and sons out for some wreck fishing. We caught about 50 sea bass, and a bunch were keepers up to 17.5 inches along with ling, bergals, and tog. On Sunday Chris, Brian, and 5 year old Brian, Jr. fished with us. The results were similar to Saturday's with sea bass, ling, sea robin, bergals and tog. Junior reeled in at least half of the fish. It made for a very happy and excited 5 year old. The best bait was the Riptide B&T squid tubes that significantly out caught the salted clam.
