bring layers, it can be sunny then windy and cold, Als boat is large enough to smooth out the ride considering the wind and waves. You dont get that with smaller rigs.

I've been to Ucluelet fishing this time of year before and it's always a great time. What I like about Ucluelet is that you don't have to go far from the dock to start fishing and you don't have to go way off-shore if you don't want to so I think it's a great location for first timers.

Expect to catch & release a lot. Undersized and wild salmon (that still have their rear dorsal fin, which fisheries snip off) cannot be kept.
Also, do not expect a luxury cruise. The boat is a working fishing vessel, with limited seating and a primitive head.

I would recommend the children take Dramamine or Gravol prior to the experience and dress appropriately otherwise no need to worry about anything. Just enjoy the time.
